Adrian was prompt picking us up in the morning as we settled into a pleasant drive to Braşov. Stopped for a quick coffee about halfway. Adrian showed us around Braşov and gave us plenty of time to explore on our own. We then drove to Bran Castle and Adrian was so knowledgeable about the history as he gave us a private tour. Finally we went to Peles Castle and once again astounded us with his depth of knowledge. Amazing day, one a highly recommend.

We had originally ordered the 5-day trip "Maramures, Bucovina & Danube Delta". Due to changes in flight times, we had to rebook the trip to a personal 4-day trip. We were in Sinaia, Bran, Brașov, Tulcea and Constanța. Despite the problem with the airline, it was no problem for Travelmaker to make changes and adapt the trip to the new conditions. Which we are very happy about. Travelmaker was very accommodating. We had a guide named Daniel during the trip, and Daniel was both nice and very knowledgeable. Which will make the whole trip to a magnificent trip. If you like nature, this was the perfect trip, even if we probably missed out on other experiences that the original 5-day trip would provide. I can highly recommend this trip and Travelmaker.

We went to Romania for 10 days and wanted to spend some time seeing the highlights of Transylvania. We are a group of 4 women from one family - which included a teenager and a senior with some mobility issues. We thought about renting a car and getting ourselves from place to place, but in the interest of making the trip easier, we looked into a private tour with Mihai. So glad we did! First of all, Mihai was a wonderful communicator from the start. Very responsive over email and very knowledgeable and flexible in helping to plan our 6-day private tour outside of Bucharest. We had an idea of what we wanted to see and he was able to create an itinerary that got it all in and more. He booked all our hotels and tickets to the big sights. It was great to hand over all those planning responsibilities. He also offered suggestions of additional sights and experiences we would not have been able to find on our own - we visited a local distillery, a replica of a wooden church, visited a Gypsy coppersmith and his family, spent time with a woman who uses a traditional loom to create rugs, did wine tasting at a small local winery, ate lunch and dinner at private homes (this is a thing in Romania - private people work with travel agents and will welcome you into their homes and serve a homemade meal - when Mihai suggested that, I thought he was crazy, but these were some of the best meals we had in Romania and definitely the most memorable experiences!). Additionally, we did all the typical sights - Peles, Pelisor, Bran Castle, Rasnov Fortress, the bear sanctuary, the Turda salt mine (this was one of our favorites), some caves, several synagogues (at our request), Astra Village Museum and more. Mihai organized the days well. (I will say that if anyone in your party has mobility challenges, the bear sanctuary is a real struggle and the Valea Cetatii Cave was impossible for my mother-in-law and almost proved too much for those of us without mobility problems!) Each day he would pick us up in his comfortable, roomy van after breakfast and would drop us off at our hotel before dinner and would give us some suggestions and help us make reservations for dinner. As for travelling with Mihai - we were very comfortable with him. He's very respectful and considerate and always flexible. He's interesting to talk to on many subjects but he could gauge when we wanted to talk and when we preferred silence - it was a good balance for long driving stretches. He's also a great driver - and in a country where many roads are not in great shape and the traffic is confusing - it was a big relief to have someone to handle the driving! In addition to our 6 day trip, we had asked Mihai (closer to our travel date) if he could also give us a additional tour of Bucharest. He wasn't available, but he connected us to his colleague Dan, who gave us a great day tour of the city. And we also told Mihai we were interested in finding a cooking experience / food tour and he connected us to Liliana, a formidable and fascinating chef who met us at the market (Dan dropped us off there) and bought food with us, then took us to her house where she cooked (we helped a little) the best food we had on the whole trip. In other words, Mihai will help you make your trip whatever you want it to be. We highly recommend him! Mulțumesc, Mihai!

Due to the current covid situation, I had a private tour that day, which was awesome. Mathias was a great guide, has a lot of general Romanian knowledge along with historical. This made for great conversation on the way to and from the castles. I highly recommend the tour and would gladly do it again with friends and family in the future.

We had a great time with our tour guide, Paul!! My boyfriend and I were vaccinated and decided to spend 4 days in Bucharest. We took this tour on a Sunday and due to the Covid season all the locations we visited were pretty clear. I was very appreciative that we didn't have to fight with crowds or long lines to enter the castles. This tour takes you to all the main castles/places in 12 hours. I chose this tour over the other ones offered on Tripadvisor since it gave us a good amount of time at each spot. I liked that we didn't feel rushed & got to really soak everything in. Yes, it seems long but I swear it goes by quick. Expect to walk a lot & definitely pack some easy to eat snacks. Also, don't forget like I did --- PACK COFFEE! The tour starts early and if you're not a morning person, coffee is a must. No more hesitating and just book it. Great price for a quality tour.
