Stefka led a wonderful tour through a small town while on her bicycle. Windmills, canals, dykes - all of the special features in a small town setting. Stefka clearly loves the town and is prepared to answer questions with knowledge and gentle good humour. This is our second tour with Stefka and it was a treat!

On our way south you will see typical Dutch polder landscape. This area is marked by windmills, dikes and little canals. We will pass Rotterdam, the biggest port and gateway to Europe, and cross the former islands of the province of Zealand with its neat villages, beautiful countryside and sandy beaches. We will also see the huge flood barriers that protect the lowlands and keep our feet dry. We cross the Belgian border and soon after we will arrive in medieval Bruges. You can explore the city on board of a canal cruise, followed by a guided city walk. You will be impressed by the Market square and the Burgt square, the beautiful city hall, the fish market and the church of Our Lady with a statue of Michelangelo. What's about tasting Bruges' chocolate, a waffle, Flemish fries or the famous beer? There is time for shopping too! On our way back to Amsterdam we will have a short stop in Antwerp or at the border (time permitting).

Visit picturesque Giethoorn, ‘Venice of the North’, the village that is famous for having no roads. Upon arrival in Giethoorn, experience this village from the water and embark on your own private whisper boat. After all, it is the main mode of transportation and traditionally 'punters' were used for this purpose. The houses in Giethoorn are built on small islands and can be reached only by boat or bridge. The majority of these bridges (more than 176!) are privately owned. Following the canal route, your guide shows you the most beautiful farmhouses. Or leave your guide 'ashore' and steer the boat yourself. Giethoorn is beautiful in every season; in Spring and Summer the village is awash with flowers, in Fall the leaves change and in the Winter it is so quiet that the villages radiates nothing but authenticity. After the boat tour you have some personal time. Wander around, visit the cheese shop, the gemstone museum or try some herring!
Inclusions: Private, comfortable and corona-proof transportation, Pick-up and drop-off in (Greater) Amsterdam, Private local guide for 6 tot 7 hours, 90 min private boat tour by electrical whisper boat , Headsets to hear the guide clearly and to maintain social distancing, Option to customize the experience to to your preferences (e.g. timings tour and topics discussed), All taxes, fees and handling charges
Exclusions: Gratuity but of course that's up to you!
I was looking for an off the beaten path tour and came across Tulip Day Tours. From the moment I made the tour reservation, I just have to say that the service was awesome. The Dutch weather is unpredictable, and Marloes would email me few days beforehand informing me about the upcoming weather forecast and leave it to me to decide whether to proceed/postpone/cancel the trip as she wanted me to have the best experience on the island. We finally made it after 3 postponements (my choice) and boy, what an awesome trip! Corona measures were in place from the moment I was picked up - I got my temperature checked, hand sanitized and the mini van was installed with screens. Marloes also prepared a breakfast bag which I enjoyed on the way to the ferry. It was my first time on an e-bike and it is seriously the best way to explore the island. With Marloes guiding, I cycled through meadows with grazing sheep and cows, along the island coast and in the forest. We made pitstops in cute little villages and I also had a delicious pancake with local cheese and beer. Marloes would tell me fun facts about the island and also little things that might go unnoticed for visitors in the Netherlands. I had a great time on the island with Marloes. I rank this trip high on my travel experience. Truly I was so happy with the trip I did not hesitate to book their Giethoorn and Kayaking trip!
Enjoyment starts on the way to the province of Overijssel. Watch the Dutch, flat-as-a-pancake, landscape pass by as your guide shares interesting information with you. Upon arrival at the Orchid Farm the different jungle gardens are ready for you to be explored! Surround yourself with thousands of fuchsias, begonias and geraniums in the fairytale SkyFlora Garden, which concept is inspired by the Japanese cherry blossom season. Meet with a wildlife guide and enjoy a lecture that explains about the life span, life cycle, feeding habits, camouflage of butterflies. Then it’s time for the transfer to Giethoorn. Here, many houses are built on small islands and can only be reached by bridge. The only continuous connection through the old village by land is a bicycle and walking path that runs from North to South. Enjoy a 1-hr canal cruise or enjoy your private whisper boat for one hour to experience Giethoorn from the water. ***Winner NL Prestige Awards: Tour Operator of the Year'***
