We went to Cat ba after the outbreak when vietnam reopened. It was not crowded but very nice. Excellent tour guide.

The 1 day tour was formal, started on time at 8.30am, we were picked up at full moon hotel on time, taken to the port on the East side, to board the boat that would be our transport/base until 4pm. Activities were: 1-monkey Is, 2-swimming around another Is, 3- lunch, 4-kayaking through karst islands (epic) and finally 5-passing by the floating village. We were briefly briefed by our guide Sarah about the day activities, a little geology about the area. The 1 night in the private island was good. The dorms were clean. The showers were hot. No soap in the restaurant toilet, so as always good to carry soap and toilet paper. the BBQ was really nice with Loads of food. Drinks are more expensive than mainland by 10k dong. they had a nice bonfire as well. There is not a lot of people on the island, so its good to go with friends, or people from the tour. Its really tranquil, and sleeping by the ocean is amazing. Waking up to the sound of the sea is really nice. I liked: The easy going from the tour guys, the cleanliness of the boat, the meal provided (fish, octopus, rice, salads), they were helpful getting on/off the boat and towels provided. They also had tea and beer for sale on the boat. For me the kayaking was the best, as the route was well thought, navigated under rocks, got into lagoons, and stayed away from the main route. Loved the BBQ at the private island. Liked the walk to sunset beach. I did not like, The tour guides were drinking from pretty early on the tour. There was no safety briefing: like location of life-saving-vests , procedure in case of emergency, and no environmental briefing such as what to do with cigarette butts, plastic bottles, etc. We had a small situation at the swimming part were one Spanish tourist had issues swimming and there was not obvious emergency response. We helped the guy by calming him down, and re-assuring him it was going to be OK. But be nicer to get the guides to look after the turists and not too drunk... There was no indication to bring trekking shoes for the monkey island. Sunset island trail needs a bit of signage. the beach itself needs a clean from the plastic and fishing items. Overall a good trip that can get 5 stars with a few changes, in my opinion.

We booked directly on the Oasis Cruise website where we were prompted to pick a date and put down a $90 deposit for a 2D1N party cruise. 3 days later we received a notification that there were no cruises on the chosen date despite their site allowing us to select and pay deposit. We were offered a day cruise as an alternative and the customer service team was very proactive in contacting us and trying to get us to book a different date although none of the replacements fit our plans. We then asked for a refund and suddenly, the previously very attentive customer service team stopped answering our emails. We have sent 2 follow up emails regarding this payment we made in JUNE and we still haven't heard anything back. We are very disappointed in the service and support from this company and could see no reason to ever book with them direct, if at all. There are a large number of cruise lines operating in this area and we found a great alternative with excellent customer service.

I had an amazing experience, I will highly recommend this tour with this company. Apart from the incredible tour itinerary, delicious food, awesome tour guide, funny, friendly and very engaging, they keep the number of guests small, so you have your own private space , but you also get to engage with the other travellers and the tour dynamics makes you feel like you’re with family. Very comfortable rooms and space in the boat as well. But personally, I experienced the best service with this tour company as I left my jacket in the boat and they were very helpful and useful to get it back to me right the next day in Hanoi. I’m extremely happy to have booked this tour.

I did a 3 Day and 3 night tour with Swallow travel and it was the highlight of my entire trip. I wish i had found out about Swallow travel sooner. The staff were exceptional and provided us with the best price and went out of their way to make sure we had an unforgettable experience. Would highly recommend using swallow travel.

Too much human pollution. Into the bay. Nature can do only so much to clean the bay. It is time for polluting humans to do the clean up themselves.

Pro’s: - prompt pick up our hotel. - clean and safe vehicle, and well driven. Con’s: - Tour guide clearly had no idea of the strict rules in place at some of the venues e.g. that we could take photos outside of Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum. Told off by soldiers/guards multiple times. This shows a lack of understanding the rules and etiquette for someone who should be experienced. - Excuses were made when challenged. - Kept wandering off to get cash out. - Grasp of English limited and difficult to understand. Hard to engage and answer questions. - Trip seemed to finish very early (3hours), not really a half day tour.
