I've been working on the tourist industry since I was 9 so I can say, have lot of this experience in the field, and I really enjoy talking about the island history, our rich cultural diversity and Roatan island development. A Monkey/Sloth Sanctuary and a City Tour is perfect for all age family’s and couples looking for something less touristic do on the island and don’t want to be off the ship for long. We meet you outside your cruise terminal to take you over to the monkey/Sloth Hang-out to get up close to the animals to photograph and learn about the different species of animal on the Island. Followed by a city tour where you will hear and learn about the rich history of the Island, which includes Indians, slaves, invaders, pirates, buried gold, and a charming blend of cultures, people and languages. You will pass through several of the villages including Coxen Hole, Barrio Los Fuertes and French Harbor, the second-largest town on the island. You will also stop and see the shipwreck and some your shopping on the way. After that you will head up on one of the highest points on the the island for stunning views over the hills covered with green lush vegetation and the blue ocean view before heading back.
