Just a few miles west of Naples (and easily reached by train), the ancient seaside city of Pozzuoli is probably best known for its bradyseism, a raising and lowering of the Earth’s surface due to underground volcanic activity. Many sites remain from Pozzuoli’s days as an important Roman port, including the Macellum or Temple of Serapis, which for many years was submerged under water. The Flavian Amphitheater (Italy’s third-largest) and the Cathedral of Rione Terra are other popular attractions.

Meeting point and pick-up at the cruise terminal. The guided tour of Pompeii will last about 2 hours, here a flourishing civilization, buried for 1,700 years, has been brought to life again and where you can see how the citizens of the greatest empire the world has ever known lived. Entering Pompeii by the Sea Gate you will be guided first in the Forum, Pompei's main square, surrounded by temples, porticoes and law courts. 20,000 people lived in this provincial town, of which 2,000 perished in the horrifying eruption of Vesuvius in AD 79. Twenty feet of volcanic ash and pumice stone covered Pompeii. Much of this has been removed over the last 200 years to reveal the details of everyday life in Pompeii. After the visit you will proceed back to the cruise terminal.

I would like to thank Tour Guide Naples for the excellent service and professional employees. The Capri excursion was great with Ugo that he is very professional in his work and even a very nice guy with people. The Blue Grotto was amazing, I know that is not polite to say, but because of the pandemic we enjoyed every place we went in quiet without lining nowhere even at the Blue Grotto we were alone and my kids could even get the permission for a little swim into the cave !!! I want to thank you for everything and for sure if I will have other trip to Italy, you'll be the only 1 company to work with.

You will meet your private english speaking driver from Positanotaxi at your location, and then you'll drive to Campi Flegrei, which is not only a volcanic area, but also a regional Park, situated West of Naples. It's perfect if you are interested in the geological features of this land: you will see 24 craters, in this incredible place, and also Gas explosions in Solfatara. These two places, Campi Flegrei and Solfatara, are always under control: the Vesuvius geologists always check the activity of the area, keeping an eye to all possible warnings provocked by any abnormal activity. In both places we will plan for you an organized tour, making sure you'll have the best local tourguide who will explain everything to you, while visiting. Our driver will make sure you reach the destinations in time. After the solfatara we will visit the Flavian amphitheater of Pozzuoli, a beautiful example of the architecture of the Roman Empire in the Naples area.

We will move to visit the ancient thermal complex of Baia, where the ancient Romans had built their otium villas taking advantage of the benefits of thermal water. Really good tour, good communication and flexibility when it came to pick up locations. Mount Vesuvius & Pompeii were both equally amazing places to visit. I just wish we had longer at Pompeii.

I booked this tour on getYourGuide and would recommend it. The service is really great! They came to pick us up directly at the hotel and, after a temperature measurement, they drove us to Pompeii. Equipped with comfortable radios, a very competent and friendly guide led us along a guided tour lasting about 2-3 hours. We passed through several important points of Pompeii. If you want to spend more time in Pompeii (the place allows it), maybe you should not go with a tour, but I found very comfortable this type of visit: very concrete and not very dispersive. Immediately after we go to a pizzeria where we have lunch with a margherita (quite good and, however, included in the price) and coffee offered by the very kind owner of the place. Afterwards we were led up to the slopes of Vesuvius, from which it is possible to take a walk. There are guides on site that will accompany you and a beautiful bar at a very high point. Then we were quietly escorted back to the hotel. Recommended!
