Minca is a picturesque coffee-growing town located in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta at 600 meters above sea level. This little town is nestled in the humid forest with trees of high heights -up to 40 meters- and of various species. It is a sector of the Sierra recognized for its high biological richness, among which birds and butterflies stand out. In its territory several streams of crystalline waters converge, and the Gaira river, which is its largest tributary.
