Colorado is home to no less than twenty-six ski resorts such as those in Vail and Breckenridge; other winter activities include snowboarding, sledding, sleigh rides, snow hiking and snowmobiling. The state is blessed with national parks, grasslands and forests where in warmer weather you can enjoy hiking, mountain biking or rock climbing. Wildlife abounds, from bears to moose and raccoons to wolverines. More interested in local history? Head for either the Ute Indian Museum or the Koshare Indian Museum, and don't miss the forts such as Fort Garland and Bent's Old Fort. For a complete change, why not take a ride in a hot air balloon from South Park Valley or Boulder and admire Colorado's picturesque landscape from above?

SSTC is a fantastic place. The instructor was easy to understand and had me XC skiing in an hour, though I definitely look as smooth as she did. Prices are super reasonable for trail tickets and rentals. Everyone there is willing to answer any questions I had. The food in the cafe hit the spot after cruising the trails.

Traversing historic mining roads, cross-country ski and snowshoe trails are mapped and clearly marked offering magnificent scenery of the Ten Mile Range and Breckenridge Ski Resort.
We came to Nordic Center intending to snowshoe but were convinced to try Nordic Skiing...and we are so glad we did! Beautiful, well-groomed trails that were easy to access and suitable for all ages and experience levels. Easy to catch on to but still a workout, especially if you aren’t acclimated to the altitude. There were benches along the trails that allowed us to stop and rest. For those who don’t like or can’t participate in Alpine skiing this is a perfect alternative. Highly recommend.

My husband and I went on the guided snowshoe tour through the Beaver Creek Nordic Center. Our excellent guide Ulrica took us up to McCoy Park and led us in a beautiful and interesting hike. She was extremely informative and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Gold Run Nordic has really great trails in a beautiful setting! We enjoyed skating on most of the green runs; great way to get some activity in before the drive home. Staff is very helpful with rentals (I wanted to try some new skate skis) and general information. The lodge is pretty and very serene - with easy and convenient parking! We will definitely be back.

COVID times are difficult for all but Keystone Nordic Center still has excellent customer service. Ray helped us get our rentals and Edie's lesson was fantastic. We loved it so much we came back the next day and customer service was top notch.
