Colorado is home to no less than twenty-six ski resorts such as those in Vail and Breckenridge; other winter activities include snowboarding, sledding, sleigh rides, snow hiking and snowmobiling. The state is blessed with national parks, grasslands and forests where in warmer weather you can enjoy hiking, mountain biking or rock climbing. Wildlife abounds, from bears to moose and raccoons to wolverines. More interested in local history? Head for either the Ute Indian Museum or the Koshare Indian Museum, and don't miss the forts such as Fort Garland and Bent's Old Fort. For a complete change, why not take a ride in a hot air balloon from South Park Valley or Boulder and admire Colorado's picturesque landscape from above?

10 cabins at the foothills of Pikes Peak. Heated pool, hot tub, mountain stream, pavilion, laundry. Family memory maker!
We stayed at Town-n-Country to celebrate our 20th anniversary on the recommendation of a friend who has been coming here for years. We were not disappointed! It is in the middle of everything we wanted to do in the Pikes Peak area yet it feels like a million miles away, hidden in the woods. And our cottage (#6) was so comfortable we could have stayed there all day. Great view of Pikes Peak and beautiful fall foliage and grazing deer every morning. The rates are very reasonable and a great bargain for everything that is available in the cottages and on the premises. The owners were very friendly and eager to make sure our visit was top-notch. They succeeded!

Rustic River Cabins are tucked away in the Big Thompson Canyon just four miles from the center of the city of Estes Park on the Big Thompson River. We are far enough from town so you don't have to deal with the heavy traffic of Estes Park, but close enough to enjoy all that the city and the Rocky Mountain National Park have to offer.
What a wonderful place to stay for a night or a week. Very clean inside and out. Privacy was exceptional. Well worth the price for beautiful view, a flowing stream, abundant wildlife, and close to restaurants and activities. Fantastic owners that help you with whatever you need a leave you alone when you don't. Absolutely I will return!!

We rented Deer Trail and Brownie for 2 night stay with our adult children and young grandchildren. The cabins are rustic but very clean and comfortable. Perfect ambience. Kitchen stocked with the items to get any cooking done. The gas fireplaces added that perfect touch to take the chill off. Steps away from restaurants and shopping. As well as the small beach area and marina. Tons of places to drive to for hikes. Mary and Tom are the best hosts! Thank you for a great time. Nancy, Ron & family

Lupine Village at Grand Lake gives you all the comforts of home, 5 minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park. Located steps from the center of Grand Lake Village, our cabins are an easy walk to the boardwalk, restaurants, shops, & the beach. 5 minutes to RMNP & less than 30 minutes to the slopes of Granby Ranch, Grand Lake is the perfect home base for your Colorado cabin vacation. All 6 of our cabins are 1 bed/1 bath, with living area, queen sofa sleeper, fully equipped kitchen, free WiFi, cable tv with HBO, and all the amenities you need for a Rocky Mountain getaway.
Lupine Village is a cluster of about 6 free standing cabins just a block off the main street of Grand Lake. The cabins are spacious and fully equipped for cooking in. But, there are many nice restaurants 1-3 blocks away if that is more your style. Very nice owners. Good internet for those of us that have to work a bit when we travel. Grand Lake is very close to the southern entrance to Rocky Mountain NP. A typical park entrance town, but far less tacky than Estes Park at the Eastern entrance. Within the park, I highly recommend the Fall River one way road. Easy to get away from the crowds and very scenic.

We have stayed at Machin’s at least 7 times over the last 15 years with our family. The kids are all adults now, and still love returning to the cabins. Fully stocked and functional cabins remind me of places from my childhood. Sparkling clean cottages. Mountain views out the window, easy trail right into RMNP from the property. This is a family tradition for us and we hope to be back soon. We wish Mr. Machin well!

My daughter and I stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Rocky Mountain National Park. It was a nice, peaceful location close enough to town and the park, but not right in the hustle and bustle. It is right off of the road, but our cabin was next to the river so that was the only noise we heard. The only thing that I felt could have been improved was to at least have a window air conditioner. It was pretty mild temperatures for July, but the cabin was very hot inside. The bugs outside were awful, so we were pretty much forced to be inside in the heat in the evening. I don't blame the site for the bugs (nothing they can do about that), but air conditioning would have been nice. I would definitely stay here again though.

Relax and unwind at Valley Glen (formerly D&B Ranch) in the PIKES PEAK Wilderness. Just 30 minutes from Colorado Springs and 15 minutes from the historic gambling town of Cripple Creek, Valley Glen is the perfect place for your mountain getaway. Designed in early American architectural styles and just feet from a roaring year round creek Valley Glen is a truly unique place to stay in Colorado.
We spend 2 nights here in August 2018. We stayed in the Victorian chalet. The pictures DO NOT do it justice. It is an adorable little home with living room, small kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and adorable reading nook! It has a covered porch that overlooks the beautiful stream, and hummingbirds feed right in front of you on the porch. The owners were amazing, and they provide you with eggs, biscuits, orange juice, coffee, and cream. They answered any questions we had promptly and were very helpful. I must say, I was a little shocked at the weather here in August. I was expecting sweltering heat, but it was 50's in AM, 80's in the afternoon, and cool again at night. No humidity. What a refreshing change from Ohio, where it was 95 and humid when we left. We slept with the windows open and the babbling brook lulling us to sleep. Cleanliness was excellent, and we had more than enough towels, extra pillows, blankets, etc. There is a stovetop, a microwave, and a mini fridge. I do suggest you take a zip lock bag full of ice, as there was no ice maker. The owners were nice enough to provide us an ice bucket and ice from their home. The linens, and bed, were very comfortable. It was a 15-minute drive to Cripple Creek, and about 15 minutes to Woodland Park. There are lots of places to hike in the area. If you have kids, you might bring the fishing poles. We saw lots of Brook Trout in the steam. There are gas and charcoal grills available for use. Notes: There is no cell reception here. Download Google maps, and then download the offline maps. This is important. You'll never find the place without the map! Overall, it was an excellent stay. Very clean, and comfortable with lovely owners. Unbelievably quiet. You could see the stars for miles at night. Great base for hiking excursions.

Since 1930 Ramona Lake Cabins has offered lake front cabins as vacation rental units. We are the only cabin rental property in the area which is located on a lake and originally platted in 1924 as a clubhouse location.
The owner feeds feral cats and they have about 20 living under the “Trout Haven” restaurant. Cabin floor sloped and press board shelves made me feel like I was staying in a FEMA trailer not level. My sister rented it so I can’t complain but even for free I probably would not stay here again. Our cabin was clean but there is zero landscaping just a rutted dirt parking area and you can’t even fish in the lake because it’s private and not owned by the cabins. So if you love the stench of cat urine, being told to stay away from the lake because you don’t own it and the Knots Berry Farm crazy haunted cabin with nothing to do but listen to the elderly couple who own it gossip about how terrible people who live around there you will have a great time! Lol

This little bed and breakfast was very very cute. It is exactly like the pictures on the web when looking it up. Some things are a little different because of covid. But we staid in the parlor room and it was perfect. The fireplace set the mood. The bed crazy comfortable and the tub big enough for 2. Never ran out of hot water. I would absolutely stay here again if we come back to leadville

Very nice place to stay we loved it. Floanns place is right there next to her cabins. Each one is very private they have a very rustic feel but I have to admit felt very homey. Like staying at Grandmas. We had to leave early due to a family emergency but she could not have been nicer. We stayed there in July of 2015
