No.1 cooking class between Osaka station and Namba station. Basically 2-3 participants, so that you can decide the menu! Vegetarian and vegan customer is welcomed! Only sightseeing? How about to look inside of local kitchen during your stay in Japan? It's more than just a tourist experience!
Meeting and making lunch with Yoko was a fantastic experience and a great way to start our trip in Japan. We learnt so much about Japanese flavours and food culture, and made a delicious lunch of sushi rolls, gyoza, miso and two salads. Yoko was so lovely and interesting, answered my endless questions - like whether it’s true sushi shouldn’t be eaten with chopsticks - and had loads of great advice for a few days eating and drinking in Osaka. Thank you Yoko!

Machiko was the model of gracious hospitality, meeting me and my friend at a nearby subway station and walking us to her beautiful home. She warmly welcomed us and shared some of her family history before we got to the task at hand, learning how to make okonomiyaki and takoyaki. My friend and I learned so much and it is evident that Machiko loves sharing her culture and heritage with visitors, as she was very generous in taking the time to help us understand the ingredients and the various cooking techniques. It was a highlight of mu visit to Osaka and I would not hesitate to recommend her cooking class to other visitors to Osaka who wish to learn more about Japanese cuisine. I would encourage people to register for classes with Machiko, as she is a kind, thoughtful and patient instructor. It was a wonderful way to spend an evening and I look forward to an opportunity in the future, if I return to Osaka, to attend another class with Machiko and perhaps to learn how to make Japanese sweets. My sincere thanks to you Machiko for spending time with us and ensuring such an enriching, fun, experience.

Learn to cook like a local! Students are guaranteed to have a fun, hands-on experience preparing authentic, delicious and healthy Japanese meals. Located in central Osaka (the city commonly referred to as the “Kitchen of Japan”) Osaka Sashisuseso is owned and run by the mother/daughter team of highly skilled professional chefs Sawako and Yuirka. Classes are taught in English.
I took a class together with Yurika-san and her mother in Osaka. I was able to pay a bit extra and arrange a combination class for myself. I had wonderful time learning how to cook with fresh ingredients, and each recipe, tempura, yakisoba, takoyaki (special industrial grill) and okonomiyaki had taste of home, and so many different sauces to try. She shared helpful tips and knowledge about the ingredients, such as components of dashi, the golden stock. It was such a great evening with good food and conversations. Thank you!

We had such a lovely time with Yucco, learning to cook ramen and gyozas. It was very personal as there were only four of us taking part. It was also very nice to be in Yucco’s own kitchen - she clearly loves what she does and it was lovely for her to share her knowledge with us. We learnt not only how to cook these amazing Japanese foods, but also we learnt even more about the Japanese culture. By the end of the class, there was so much food to eat - you don’t need to have a big breakfast (if any) before you take part. I highly recommend this class.
