The 10 Best Cooking Classes in North Holland Province, The Netherlands

August 25, 2021 Veronika Gaddis

Mostly jutting northward from its largest city of Amsterdam and its capital of Haarlem, the Noord-Holland region has much more to offer beyond those two wonderful cities. At Muiden is the magnificent Muiderslot Castle, as if it stepped out of a fairy tale. Showing more wear but no less interesting is Brederode Castle at Santpoort. At Zaanstad is Zaanse Schans, one of Holland’s top tourist destinations and a family-friendly open air museum of windmills, traditional buildings, crafts and shops.

In our cook's atelier you learn how to cook european style. We offer a program to learn cooking and we take you into the city to let you discover culinary places in Amsterdam. You can choose from a one day program to a full five days program, combined with a tour in the boat to join a wine tasting event. From our unique location in a former harbour, we go out to buy ingredients on the markets and small specialized stores for cheese, meat, herbs, wines and vegetables. When you are looking for a unique place to have dinner with your family or friends, our Cook's Atelier is the place to have an exclusive private dinner or lunch. In September 2016 we are located in our new atelier in the Houthavens, until then you are very welcome in the Watergraafsmeer, a very cosy district on the eastside of Amsterdam, near the place where Johan Cruijff was born. Check our website for more information: cookyourlife.nl.

My name is Eric. Entrepreneur, teacher scriptwriting and a mentor of young technological start-ups. My passion is to help people and inspiring them to achieve their dreams. For over ten years I have owned and managed two very popular restaurants in the heart of Amsterdam. After selling lots of lobster, great steaks and wine, I've sold these companies. Because of all these experiences I've gained during that adventure I want to inspire people and show them the Dutch kitchen.

Amsterdam Cooking Workshops

Hi, I'm David and I live behind Dam Square in the center of Amsterdam in a typical cozy Amsterdam apartment. Both my (Indonesian) mother and my (Dutch) father as well as their parents were born and raised in Indonesia. Growing up in my mother's kitchen I developed a passion for Asian cuisine, in particular Indonesian, Thai and Vietnamese. In my 3-hour cooking workshops, you'll learn about fundamentals, essential ingredients and specific cooking techniques. Looking forward meeting you! David
