Outstanding day yesterday for us ! We were picked up by Wayan and taken on a wonderful tour of the markets and rice fields by Made before joining our host family for a heart felt authentic experience .. we were welcomed into their home and nothing was too much trouble. Trip Advisor recommended this experience and we totally agree it’s fantastic and not to be missed.

An exciting day of tours and cooking with choice of South Asian, Indonesian or Balinese cooking classes. Starting with tours to fishing village and traditional market. coffee tasting, spice talk, hands on cooking with a wonderful exotic lunch beers cocktail inclusive. Bon Appetite, By Chef Dean
Fantastic experience and well worth the day to experience one of the best cooking schools (and cocktails) you are likely to come across. Chef Dean and Chef Putu are first class with brilliant food knowledge, local specialties, cocktails and a history lesson in food origins and the spice trade to add to an absolutely brilliant day. A must do in Bali for anyone who loves the fresh flavours of Sth East Asian cooking.

Had great time at this cooking school, easy to see why it’s so populated. Picked up on the dot for a tour of the markets which was very interesting. Don’t be afraid to try some things here too. Then back to the garden kitchen for our classes. There were only four of us so we got very hands on with all dishes. We cooked seven dishes in total and you get given a recipe book to take with you.I really loved that the dishes were less complicated than I expected so will be easy to cook back home. Thank you Irma and Wati for a great morning.

An Original Balinese Cooking Class offers you an opportunity to learn how to cook real Balinese food with local ingredients, with skilled and friendly Instructors. Teachers who can impart the secrets of Balinese cooking to you in a casual and fun atmosphere. Chef Ketut is cooking instructor of Payuk Bali Cooking Class. He emphasizes a friendly teaching style centered on actually doing, rather than watching. He guarantees that by the time you complete your course you will not only have learned a thing or two about Balinese cooking but you will also have had a most memorable experience.
Ketut's cooking class is an experience for all senses. It starts of your morning fix of smell of the local produce in the Ubud market with probably the best guides in the area. Back at the class ketut provides a great insight into Balinese cuisine. I havent met anyone with such infectious laughter...his sense of humor with a well drilled and trained team provide step by step guidance through out the class...the end is result is amatuer creating a spread of highest quality and taste....absolutely a 7 star experience...

Caraway Bali Cooking Class is run by the owner, teacher. In a relaxed garden setting in Sanur you will enjoy the fun classes and the yummy food. Free transfers in Sanur will ease the budget.
Recently attended the cooking class with my son. Very quiet in Bali as not School holidays and no Chinese tourists due to Coronavirus. It turned out to be just my son and I in the class which was perfect. We were picked up from our Villa and taken to a market which is generally not visited by the tourists and were given the opportunity to taste some fruits we hadn’t tasted before like Snake Fruit and Durian which we decided were not for us. From there we were taken back to the cooking school and cooked Beef Rendang, Mie Goreng, spring Rolls and Green Pancakes. Dewi, Koming and Arve were great teachers and the food was fantastic. A great food and cultural experience. I would recommend this to anybody who wants to experience the food and culture first hand.

My friend and I throughly enjoyed our cooking class at Janbangan Bali Cooking School. We were fortunate enough to have a private class and tour of the market, as we were the only people registered for the morning class. The entire family was welcoming and kind, taking time to answer all our many questions. It was very rewarding to consume the food we had prepared. Everything was very easy to prepare with the help from our lovely local cooking assistants. Thanks for the lovely experience. I would highly recommend others go to Jambangan Bali Cooking School too.

It was last minute, but they were able to accommodate us for an afternoon cooking class that resulted in dinner for 7 members of the class. Our driver picked us up at 2:45pm and the class was scheduled to start at 4 pm. We met our teacher, Aiyu, at her home in Tengkulak Village in Ubud, and we walked up steps to her lovely home with a traditional layout for a Balinese compound. Our menu included making the basic yellow sauce with ginger, tumeric, galangal, and lesser galangal plus a host of other ingredients. We made a clear soup with oyster mushrooms and fresh young coconut, traditional chicken sate skewers roasted over an open flame, chayote with mixed vegetables and yellow sauce, gadu gadu vegetable dish, tuna wrapped in banana leaves, tempeh and tofu in sweet soy sauce, and black sticky rice dessert. I am sure I forgot some of the dishes, but the experience was a lot of fun and Aiyu gave us a lecture about the uses of the spices for traditional medicine and the culture of Balinese families. Our class that began with strangers became good friends over the course of cooking. When we sat down to eat the results of our labors, we enjoyed it greatly. I highly recommend this cooking school for all. It is not very expensive IDR 375,000 per person.
