Barcelona feels a bit surreal – appropriate, since Salvador Dali spent time here and Spanish Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí designed several of the city’s buildings. Stepping into Gaudí’s Church of the Sacred Family is a bit like falling through the looking glass - a journey that you can continue with a visit to Park Güell. Sip sangria at a sidewalk café in Las Ramblas while watching flamboyant street performers, then create your own moveable feast by floating from tapas bar to tapas bar.

Canela Fina is an authentic family style kitchen located in Barcelona’s Gothic district. Canela Fina offers cooking classes in Barcelona. It offers a variety of food related services and it is managed by Anna and Nuria, who love gastronomy and love to make people feel like home. Anna is a terrific Catalan cook, runs home-style cooking classes in which she teaches private groups how to cook classic Spanish and Catalan recipes. After the classes, you will enjoy what you have cooked in a private dining room with wine included. Canela Fina is flexible to offering other types of services: private parties, wine tasting, team-building activities, etc. Classes are in Catalan, Spanish or English.
When in Barcelona, you absolutely must take the time to have the art of tapas making taught to you by Anna and her daughter Nuria. We could not be more pleased by their warmth and knowledge of Catalan cuisine. You will come away from the class with a better understanding of Spanish cooking, improved cooking skills and a full stomach from the meal you just cooked and ate. This is a must try experience!

Born to Cook is a hands-on cooking workshop located in the romantic El Born neighborhood, one of the city’s oldest quarters. We offer cooking classes and market tours for travelers looking to immerse themselves in the flavors of Catalan cuisine. Our trained chefs are excited to show you the secret’s of the city’s markets: where to buy the freshest fish, how to tell if a vendor is swindling you, which stall sells the freshest tomatoes. Once you’ve shopped, it’s off to the cooking school (located in the family home of Christopher Columbus!) for paella making lessons and professional chef’s tricks for an authentic Spanish meal. We also offer private classes. Contact us for more information.
This was an all around amazing experience! We toured two local Mercats learning where chefs and locals shop, picked up foods for tasting and making our appetizers and paella. Valerio was an excellent tour guide for the markets and Nuria was a wonderful chef helping us prepare 3 appetizers, paella and Crema Catalan for dessert. We learned so much in a fun, relaxing environment with wine and Cava too! We highly recommend this cooking class! Thank you for a fabulous experience!

A place where to learn how to cook spanish, catalan and ethnic dishes only using local and sustainable ingredients. Professional slow food chefs teach you all the tricks and skills to become the chef of the future. For a good, clean and fair world.
We booked this class based on an earlier review highlighting the fact that there are hundreds of cooking classes in Barcelona and if you really want to learn about the culture, cuisine and cooking skills THIS is the one to take. My husband and I are both comfortable in the kitchen and learned a couple of new knife skills and vegetable preparation techniques, and our teenaged son, who is not so comfortable, learned a ton as well. Giuseppe and his souschef Alexander were a wonderful combination of conversationalists, demonstrators and instructors throughout the cooking process. It was the highlight of our trip to Barcelona. Great food, great company, great conversation, and great fun! Don’t go anywhere else!

An absolute winner for travellers of all ages and backgrounds, this activity is the perfect way to spend your evening amongst new friends, great food and cultural fun in Barcelona. Your chef speaks English and Spanish and will cater to any food allergies or special requirements. For those who do not eat seafood, an alternative main meal is cooked by the chef and served with the Paella. Recipes and cooking tips will be handed out to group at the end.
My daughter and I went for a little break in Barcelona in February to celebrate her 14th Birthday. We both found the paella cooking experience so much fun and the experience will certainly not be forgotten!! The chef and the barmaid were both very entertaining and they kept everyone engaged and enthusiastic to help prepare the paella and the sangria! The paella was delicious and we have since come back to the u.k and bought our own paella pan and burning ring to try and remake the unforgettable meal we had in barcelona!! We have followed the receipe which was given to us after or experience. It is a definite must do when visiting Barcelona. You certainly won't forget it!!
