Off Australia’s South Coast you’ll find the rugged and beautiful island of
Tasmania — a unique destination where you can see Tasmanian devils, walk
in the wilderness, take in stunning eco-cruises, taste artisanal cheeses and
even explore a controversial art museum. The best way to see it? Take the
back roads, but allow plenty of time: A short drive in any direction can lead to
wineries, distilleries, marine farms, convict settlements, pristine beaches,
fields of lavender and national parks…

We were very happy with the 2 bedroom apartment we booked, it was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The beds were comfortable with electric blankets on all of them ( 2 single and 1 king) Privately set in nice gardens with laundry and spa bath, ensuite to main. Would go back again. Also the location was good as it was close to downtown Hobart, Supermarket and Restaurants.

Set high on the farmland hills overlooking the township of Stanley, the views from Horizon Apartments are simply captivating. Private decks allow guests to unwind while taking in those spectacular vistas over Stanley, the ancient volcanic formation, The Nut, and surrounding beaches. Apartments each have a king-size bed, leather lounges and a full kitchen, including the all-important coffee machine. The modern design extends throughout the open-plan living and bedroom areas and to the ensuite bathroom, with a brilliant freestanding spa overlooking the pastures to the water. Separate bathrooms also feature eye-catching floor-to-ceiling tiles and ultra-modern fittings. Generous breakfast provisions are provided, along with Austar and WiFi facilities. The property is a few minutes' drive from Stanley.
Spent 2 nights at Horizon Apartments with a perfect view of The Nut, that is arguably one of the best views anywhere in Australia. The apartment is brand new with luxury fittings and furniture. A 10/10 and a definite must stay if visiting Stanley or NW TAS.

Bicheno by the Bay (BBTB) Bicheno. Self-contained family accommodation on Tasmania's sunny east coast - 19 bungalows and 5 motel rooms, right in town, right on the ocean front. BBTB is located on 8 acres in a coastal bush setting. All bungalows stand alone and are appointed with open plan lounge and kitchen areas, separate bedrooms, deck and covered carport. Each bungalow is generously equipped with cooking and eating utensils, conventional oven and microwave, bedding including doonas and electric blankets, television, DVD and hairdryer. No charge washing machines are available. Four of the motel rooms are located in a quiet part of the property overlooking a man-made lake. Each unit has a tranquil view of water and gum trees, and various decks from which to enjoy the ambiance. Extract from testimonial regards BBTB - "in an amazing location just across from a gorgeous rocky coastline with penguins nesting nearby so you could hear their songs in the night."
Villa (3 bedroom) needs attention. Sliding door latch onto balcony did not close/lock, I mentioned this to reception but nothing happened, some problems with the wood outside also - not good if you have a sleepwalker. Couch needed a good clean. Clothes line was inaccessible due to overgrowth of trees and shrubs, management did provide a clothes airer but that wasn;t the best for a family of 5 to get washing dry. Pool was not heated despite being advertised on the website as a heated pool, canoe pond could also do with a clean. Beds were fine and location was good but I realise it is a big complex to maintain but a little update would go a long way.

Marsden Court offers spacious studio and 2 bedroom apartments set in landscaped gardens in a secure gated community and close to all attractions Strahan and this World Heritage area has to offer.
Our standard 2 bedroom unit at Marsden Court was very clean and comfortable. The unit was stocked with the usual tea, coffee and milk, clean cutlery and crockery and a small kitchen including a microwave with parking out the front of the unit. The beds were very comfortable and Sharon, our host was helpful with what to see and do. I would have no hesitation staying here again.

Our two bedroom Salamanca suite was exactly what we were after for a family of four staying three nights in Hobart. We would definitely stay here again. It was well equipped, comfortable and the staff were very helpful. It also had two bathrooms and separate bedrooms. The location is in a lovely part of the city and ideal for restaurants etc. Salamanca markets and the MONA ferry were right on our doorstep. The car parking places were also convenient. The only downside was the free WIFI seemed to drop out quite frequently.

Views galore, 5 minutes from the CBD and it is located in a court so no traffic noise. However it was a little tired in its look, we had a family with active children in the next apartment and at 7am they were running about our apartment and also had a clear view inside.

We stayed two nights in a very neat and clean two bedroom unit. Unit 13 was very large and comfortable. The cottage has all the usual amenities for an extended stay, and is only two minutes from town. Our host Bruce was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. He is extremely knowledgeable about the sounding area and made our stay one the remember. The three alpacas that live at the cottages were interesting and made you feel like you were in the country. Thank you Bruce.

The village of Tarraleah in the south of Tasmania was constructed for the workers building the impressive hydro-electric scheme. Now totally renovated it is a place to lounge by a log fire, cook delightful meals or have slow cooker meals delivered. Period furniture, clean as a whistle, heaps of charm and short bushwalks nearby. The cottage is roomy, warm, with 3 living areas, large kitchen, large bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Highly recommended for a unique Tasmanian experience.

Older apartment (self contained). Needs a major refurbishment (especially the mattress - was probably the worst mattress I have ever encountered). Walls are paper thin and our "neighbours" blasted music until 4am. Very good location ( although it is a hike up the hill) and the receptionist was very helpful with lots of assistance with places to see.
