Hiking trails and art galleries abound in Stellenbosch, but it's wine that takes center stage. More than 100 wine cellars, most open to the public, surround the oak-lined South African town, and tasting tours operate daily. Winter brings a four-day festival celebrating the local vintages. The historic town center houses the trading-post style shop Oom Samie se Winkel, the Neo-Gothic Moederkerk church, and museums dedicated to toys, military memorabilia, autos and early life on the Cape.

We needed a room to freshen up before a wedding we were attending before the check-in time and the staff found us a room to freshen up in (that was clean) and we left our bags at reception. When we returned from the wedding, they had kindly moved our bags into our room. It was a wonderful.

Lauradale is a lovely and well-maintained oasis in Stellenbosch. We enjoyed swimming in the pools, yoga on the lawn and cooking our own meals in an easy and peaceful environment. The staff are kind and competent and provided everything necessary for an enjoyable stay. We were there nearly two weeks and would have stayed longer. Good value for money.

Lovely studio rooms with Victorian flavour. A short walk from the main centre. Breakfast available too. We visited wineries, museums, shops, a few restaurants and it was always nice to return to our gated apartments.

Very nice central apartment, clean and well equiped! Close to all bars and restaurants and relatively easy to access. Secure although a few too many stairs when load-shedding kicks in (not the fault of the establishment).

Serenahof Guest Apartments lies in the heart of the historical town of Stellenbosch and next to the First River. The Art Deco building dates back to 1940 and features elegant balconies overlooking the Helderberg mountains. Each apartment is furnished and offers an equipped kitchen, comfortable bedroom and spacious lounge with wireless internet available. The accommodation offers secure parking, being in the centre of town and in walking distance of the University of Stellenbosch and sport stadiums it is ideally suited when visiting the Boland on holiday, business, for sporting or academic reasons.

De Oude Schuur is nestled on a picturesque farm located on the outskirts of Stellenbosch, encircled by an amphitheatre of magnificent mountain ranges. We are situated 5 min drive from some of the best Wine Farms in our country, namely - Webersburg Wine, Rust en Vrede Wines, Ernie Els Wines, Peter Falke Wines and Guardian Peak Wines & Grill.
We booked this accommodation, because it looked clean and perfect on the booking site. The reviews were not too bad either. We got there and their office were closed. We phoned Elmarie and she informed us that she was not on the premises, but the rooms were open. We went to the room and what a shocker. We were placed in the Secret Garden ( well we found the secret , keep on reading ) and The Stable. Absolutely nothing as per the photos on the booking site. The chairs were soiled badly and towels looked like old nappies. The bedding was appalling and there were graffiti and writing on the walls. We messaged both owners informing them of it. We had an appointment and had to leave. Low and behold as if it was not bad enough , the door did not want to lock. We phoned again and a shirtless man came and said we could leave it he will fix it the next morning. I declined and informed him we are booking out the next morning and shall not sleep with a open door. We moved our luggage to the other room we booked in the hope that the door as well as other issues are fixed upon our appointment. We returned to the dirty Continental pillows removed only and the worst towels. So here comes the biggest secret of it all, my husband opened the duvet and we found the sheets soiled with brown marks. On the booking site they said it was bleach marks, but bleach marks is white according to my knowledge and they blamed it on Covid and being short staffed. We sat up and could not wait for the sun to rise to just get out. PS: They refused to refund or compensate us, horrible customer service to say the least
