Your own personal paradise awaits in Mazatlán on Mexico’s Gold Coast. Perfect for family vacations, Emerald Estates is an exclusive luxury resort retreat featuring a collection of three-bedroom villas, a world-class spa, tennis courts, and a private beach. Our guests enjoy close proximity to all the pleasures of “The Pearl of the Pacific,” including world-class golf and sport fishing and complimentary access to our sister resorts, Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay and Pueblo Bonito Mazatlán, including a combined 11 restaurants and bars. Each luxurious villa features three spacious bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom. A private pool and oversized Jacuzzi can be found on the stunning furnished terrace, as well as a barbeque grill for poolside entertainment. The villas also include a dining room and living room (with queen sleeper sofa), a full-sized kitchen with appliances and a laundry room. The villas are surrounded by beautiful green scenery and offer remarkable views from the bedrooms and terrace. Max occupancy: 10.
The staff and the food was good but the condition of the villas is pretty bad. They are called luxury villas but they are run down, dirty and tired. There were roaches and ants in the Villa and the furniture needs replacing and updating.

My wife and I came to Mazatlan for the first time and it was to also celebrate our anniversary. We had a wonderful stay in our 1 bedroom unit which came with 2 queen beds that actually worked out better since our daughter was with us and didn't need to use the available murphy bed in the living room (which from what I saw was a good quality bed like the comfortable ones in the bedroom). Our unit was on the second floor of tower B with a balcony with the view of the pool area and beyond it the beach. The layout and the size of the unit was perfect. The kitchen was complete with everything including a dishwasher, but the only appliance we used was the full size refrigerator where we kept our drinks cold. By the way, it's nice the resort has a small market for such things. The bathroom had within it a separate room for the toilet, and the shower was good sized. The living room had a dinning table, coffee table with sofa and seats. Against the wall was the cabinet that kept the murphy bed that we didn't use. Even though the backside of the bedroom was the hallway by the elevator, we slept so well on the comfortable beds we weren't bothered by any outside noise if there was any. If there was any complaint about our unit it would be that the entrance to it opens to the hallway connecting the bedroom/bath to the kitchen/living room. What the means is when that door is opened, there isn't enough space for someone to get by or get through the hall until the door is closed. The other is that it for its large size it would've been nice if the shower had a ledge to temporarily rest foot on while showering. The other was that as part of checking out of the room we were instructed to dispose of our trash and recyclables to the bins placed behind the elevators. Going back to when we arrived, it was great their rules for Covid protocols. For example they sprayed down our luggage with a disinfectant while I was checking in. The checkin lobby which was a very small room with a counter with limited occupancy was only allowed to have 1 member of a party inside. In there and at the restaurant (except when eating/drinking), guests were asked to wear masks. The elevators were too small to get a group of people in. The service at the resort was great, specially the food and drink service by the pool. Except for the prime rib (that there was a special day for), the waffles we had for breakfast, and chicken fingers and fries we snacked on, we didn't think much else for the rest of the food the one and only restaurant there served. All the staff members were so friendly and helpful, including mostly the servers at the pool and restaurant who provided us food & drinks everyday. Fermin not only served us our meal but gave recommendation to a place we'd be at when we went into town. Then there was Francisco who was always everywhere at any time for us always ready to take our requests for food & drinks. Javi too, all very nice and friendly. There were also the Gabby's and Gabrielas at the front desk who were helpful over the phone or in person. The grounds of the resort were nice and we liked that we never had problems getting lounge chairs whether by the pool or grassy area next to the pool by the beach. The best part of being there was the beautiful sunsets we enjoyed while sitting along the wall that goes down to the beach. To the north of the grassy area we could see there were volleyball courts, tennis courts and I think even a pickle ball court. In the middle of the grassy area were some tables and bbq grills that we saw one guest use to bbq their own food for their family. The pool was adequate being only one adult pool and a little kiddie pool next to it. There were 2 hot tubs, one being out in the open while the other surrounded by trees on the backside of the pool slide. They also had a place by the pool where they gave pedicures/manicures and massages but requires an appointment with the activities desk located in the courtyard by the small checkin office. Even though the location of Torres was farther from downtown Mazatlan, it made for a quieter peaceful relaxing time at the resort, and the great thing was when we discovered the bus stop was right outside the resort for those moments we went out. That bus was only 12 pesos, comfortable seats, air conditioned, and took us straight into downtown with a long stretch next to their world famous malecon. The one and only bus we had to remember was the one with Sabalo-Centro lit up or written on its window that came by often enough that it wasn't a long wait (the bus was mostly green in color). In all our first time in Mazatlan left a very good impression on us that we will be certain to come back soon.

This was a wonderful resort. The staff was super kind and got everything we needed. The maids cleaned our rooms everyday and did a wonderful job. The resort was so beautiful and our ocean view room was breathtaking. The beach was our backyard, there were restaurants at the hotel and right on the beach, and a lounge and bar area next to the pool downstairs. I loved every part of it.

My friend Valentina want a couple of days away, and we found this hotel through Virgin Vacations group. The hotel was very clean and provided every thing she needed. Wonderful pool. The staff were amazing, she even got invited to grandpa's birthday party. There is a very good coffee bar at the front. I can recommend this place for a wonderful stay. Thank you for looking after Valentina.

All the staff were very nice and accommodating. They had a safe at the checkin counter you could use for your computer, jewelry, cash, passport. They were happy to have you use it whenever you wanted. The room had a great view. The balcony overlooked the beach. It was as if you were beachfront, though we were one street back. It was very convenient to restaurants and a laudomat. There was also a nice bar with live music, Jax bar, around the corner. We went there most nights. The hotel was remarkably quiet, in spite of being around the corner from the bar. You could hear the waves crashing at night, which was nice. There was breakfast included, though it got repetitive. Eggs over easy, toast, a little fruit, and frijoles, and chilaquiles. The chilaquiles were always soggy, not crisp. Didn’t care for the frijoles. Consider getting a room without the breakfast plan if you want more breakfast variety. 6th floor had rooftop hot tub and a small pool. The hot tub was nice except on weekends when very young mexican children would take it over(although there is a posted notice that young children should not use the hot tub as their pool. The pool was too small and too cold for me to enjoy in early May. The daily maid service did a good job. There was a small fridge, microwave and a stove top, but we didn't cook. We did reheat some leftover restaurant meals in the microwave. The only downside was the beds were hard. I would give it 5 stars, if not for the uncomfortable beds. We had a room with 2 queen beds, though I would not classify them as queens. They were much smaller. We did see a room with a king size bed which looked like it had a mattress topper. That might be a better choice.

Indulge in the beauty of B Nayar. It is an exclusive resort where luxury meets privacy and combines it with exquisite ocean views. Located in the magnificent Riviera Nayarit, it has become one of the most visited destinations by foreigners and Mexicans in our country. Memorable views and wide open spaces, designed especially for you to enjoy all the comfort you deserve, will make of B Nayar the place where you want to be.
We stayed in a three bedroom penthouse apartment recently. The resort is large and spacious, there’s a shuttle bus to and from the reception area, takes about 4 minutes but you can walk down to the beach club area. There are beach towels available from the beach club reception. The pools there are lovely and warm and the beach is adjacent and is clean and shelves gently into the warm sea. The main negative is the dreadful loud incessant awful music that the DJ blasts out constantly The beach club serves a nice breakfast and once that is complete the staff then come to your sun bed to take your orders for drinks and snacks. The lunch menu and food is much better than the supper menu. All the staff expect a tip when serving you either in the restaurant or by the pool. There’s another pool nearer the reception area and this is similar in size to the beach club ones but far quieter but no service from the bar The main restaurant is near the main reception area and there’s also another smaller pool there as well The menu is varied and the food on the whole is acceptable. You have to scan the QR codes to see what’s on offer. The main complaint is the total lack of any ordering system. Some days we gave our order and waited up to an hour even for a drink never mind your food order, staff seemed to be busy but doing what we weren’t sure. Another oddity is if you order your starter and main course at same time they are brought out together. I think because we were the only English speaking guests there and very few staff speak English we did find ordering the food difficult The apartment was large with a huge kitchen and dining area however there wasn’t even a spoon never mind a plate!! When the apartment was serviced and used towels taken away I had to keep going to reception to ask for clean ones There wasn’t a safe and unfortunately my wife had two rings taken from our wardrobe It would be nice for the children if there were slides into the pools and also ice cream as at other all inclusive resorts the latter was always available Just a word of advice is don’t lose your immigration form like I did, caused me issues at airport on departure Enjoy the holidays

The hotel suites where a perfect starting point to explore the area, but still a welcomed retreat to go back every day to enjoy the pool by the ocean and relax in the company of good friends, the suites are big and clean, ours was a two bedroom apartment with a well equipped kitchen, three complete bathrooms, huge balcony, A/C in every room, four floor with commanding views of the whole Bay. The only missing feature is a bar/restaurant in the premises, although there are plenty of options at walking distance.

PROS: Very Quiet place to stay if you plan to relax, rest, read. We stayed in apartment number four with a kitchenette. Clean and nicely furnished, Oceanview, 15 feet from the beach. Parking free of charge and convenient. You can walk along the beach and it’s clean and quiet. Sunsets are amazing CONS: The view is amazing although in apartment number four you have to stand up on the balcony in order to enjoy the view if you sit down you can’t see anything. You need to take jugs of drinkable water because they don’t provide any and the water coming out of the shower and sink is salt water No microwave. There is a table and chairs in the balcony but as I mentioned if you sit down you can’t see anything because off a wall blocking the view. The restaurant food is Overpriced and expensive and there is a service charge. There is nothing close to the hotel (options for food) walking distance, you need to take your car. It is located 30 minutes driving from Acapulco Bay.

Villa Serena is a boutique apartment complex offering a delightful assortment of one/two/bedroom apartments. Most guests are long term renter with rents offered at weekly and monthly fees. However, the apartments are available for nightly rentals as well. Apartments are considered fully furnished with basic kitchen amenities including sink, fridge and stove. Villa Serena Apartments are located in the Centro Historic district two blocks from Plazuela Machado and four blocks from Olas Altas beach.
WARNING: There is major construction going on at Villa Serena since May 2021 and it has been anything but "Serena" or Serene to live here. I am Todd an Airbnb superhost from the USA and I know a thing or two about hospitality. (over 150 5 star reviews on Airbnb). The noise here has been an outrageous nuisance, at one point in time the workers were drilling into my walls sounded like a jackhammer going off. It ongoing all day 8-5p. Couldn't take phone calls during the noise. This is advertised as a three star hotel on hotels.com and booking.com, totally misleading and they operate it like a prison. The exterminator came one day in May to treat for cockroaches, and there were hundreds of them dead in the garden patio. I see them daily on the ground floor. The safety is a concern, someone could have been hurt when a large ivy tree toppled over during a storm blocking the exit. See google review and photos. The windows are antique, shoddy, the doors are antique, shoddy, don't align well, they are not sealed, they leak water. If you are here in June-Sept, the rains and the storms make the windows rattle so loud, its impossible to sleep. Floors flood. This is just a slum operation looking to pack as many Canadians like sardines into these prison cells. My privacy was invaded by construction workers looking into our bathroom where my fiancé showered and undressed. The A/C broke down in July heat, took almost two weeks to fix it right. We have been so grossly unjustly treated as guests who paid almost 1000 USD to stay here monthly. In response to my complaints, we have been threatened with police, been ignored, been harassed by Martha Probaellos (more about her below). Martha is a mean, dictator like Mexican woman who is inconsiderate and rude to guests. She was rude to my fiancé and myself Last night i was woken numerous times between 11p and 1am by Martha doing laundry and drier signal buzzing off repeatedly. NOTE: Casita Rafael abuts the laundry room since they just relocated it. She was unapologetic and rude. There are similar reports about the staff on hotels.com by a Canadian as well to this effect, so please read through those you'll see I'm not the only one taking notice of this. The owners Andrea Gibel and her husband who refused to disclose his identity, (red flag) and her son David Gibel are more concerned about retaining their rude staff during COVID then they are about the comfort of their guests. Its disgraceful. And their response is , why don't you just leave and find another place. Enough said? I have many Canadian friends and they are some of the kindest, nicest most hospitable people i know. No way if they witnessed what I am reporting would they spend their money here. Three star quality is misrepresentation. Its cheap, like camping with the shoddy countertops, awful worn mattresses, awful sheets, the TV is tiny and bad picture. I find it disgraceful the deceit and the misrepresentation of the place. No elevator, get used to walking up three flights of stairs if you want windows in your unit, and lugging groceries. Some people may be willing to pay that amount for a shoddy room with leaking faucets, floors that flood during rainstorms, awful lighting and crappy older appliances. For a few days sure, you can deal. But don't think about staying here long term until you've done your research. Its camping folks, this is not a hotel. I met with Andrea who was a German lady and spoke good English. She offered to discount my rent by 20%. Does little to offset the lost sleep, threats and hostility and total neglect however. Sorry but that won't buy my silence about the awful experience. They decided to keep guests during major construction and should have closed the place down or discounted it at least 50%. I got screwed. I was a good sport for as long as I could, now I'm at end of my rope. If she and her husband decide to do more to offset this awful experience I will update this review accordingly. Otherwise Villa Serena, good riddens, karma will eventually catch up with you.

Stayed at a friends condo in August 2019. Staff were very pleasant, place was spotless, staff work endlessly on keeping the place looking good. Pool, ocean, long walks on beach followed up by happy hour at Karens place. Will for sure be back.
