Arts & Decor, Music, Cocktails and cuisine This exciting Lisbon Hotel, located in the heart of the city, has been home to creative minds for some years now. The Hotel’s areas inside are covered in the funkiest urban & pop art design pieces, whilst maintaining the classic beauty of the ageless baroque exterior of the 1700s. The hotel aims to capture you with its various custom designed, handcrafted and/or restored furnishings and rotating collection of modern local Artwork. Whether dining a colourful selection of American and Portuguese cuisine or enjoying speciality Cocktails accompanied by the most entertaining and captivating live music shows at the Navegadoors Bar, Lisbon Art Stay always delivers exceptional guest experiences. And with the Rooftop Terrace providing stunning views to local monuments such as the St. Georges Castle, the Santa Justa elevator, and the majestic Rossio and Commercial square with its magnificent arch the triumph and mesmerising view on the river Tejo.
Stayed for four nights in June 2022. Overall thought it was excellent value for money! Extremely central location - minutes from lift and Rossio station (for day trips to Sintra etc). Vibe is very cool and artsy, though lots of mirrors so a bit discombobulating! Room was very spacious and well equipped including fridge, coffee machine and powerful shower. Especially considering the central location, the room was very quiet and I slept very well every night. AC wasn't working but we were comfortable with a fan. Also big shout out to the reception staff who provided a cake in the room for my birthday - it was great and thank you so much!

We stayed here 4 nights with two friends. The rooms are nice and clean. We missed a shelf for the beauty products in the bathroom. Even in the shower. The breakfast is ok, the service could be better for a 4 stars hotel. The pool is great and clean. The hotel employees are very friendly and accommodating. They all speak good English. The service in the restaurant could be better for a 4 star hotel. Some do not speak English well, the waiting times for drinks are sometimes too long. But the burgers are very good. We would come again.

The Lisbonaire Apartments embodies a new way to visit Lisbon. Located in a quiet street in the heart of downtown Lisbon, a short stroll from Chiado, Bairro Alto or the Castle, The Lisbonaire Apartments are your ideal starting point to visit or work in Lisbon, with the subway a few steps away and numerous sights, monuments, restaurants, theatres and bars immediately at your doorstep. The 1960s building was fully rebuilt in 2011 and each apartment has the contribution of a Portuguese designer, which invokes a specific object or place from the surrounding area, making the apartments unique and special. Our aim is to welcome and inspire all visitors to discover the traditional and contemporary Lisbon and all the small things that make it so unique. Come and visit us!
Would have easily been a 5 star rating if not for the Friday late-night street party outside our windows. Our first 2 nights here were very enjoyable. The Lisbonaire offers good sized rooms with all the basics needed for a full kitchen. The layout of our room was slightly disfunctional, but not a problem. The only problem during our stay came on Friday night. There were lots of young adults hanging out on the street just half a block from our windows and every one of them tried to scream louder than the last, or so it seemed. As each vehicle arrived or left, an obnoxious and repetitive honking of the horn seemed requisite. The laughing and yelling didn't begin to cease unti after 3:30a.m., far too late for useful sleep when one has an early flight. Some of the rooms at this hotel face the street, others face an interior garden. Though the interior garden is nothing to brag about (in fact, most of the buildings opposite are in dire need of repair), it is probably well worth the extra $ to (likely) avoid the weekend noise pollution outside the street facing windows.

We arrived in error a day early and the hosts were so kind and calm;) because we weren't! Luckily our room was available for renting an extra day. I love the decor, industrial and fun! The kitchen is great, and having a fridge and microwave is wonderful for taking home unfinished restaurant dinners. The breakfast brought to your room is so wonderful and fun! No searching for coffee! The location is walking distance to anything you'd want, public transportation, just walking this beautiful city, etc. As 70 yr. old seniors, navigating the small distance between the commode and the industrial sink was challenging, as was the narrow passage for the table to the bathroom. I think younger nimble folks would have no problem! We would stay her again.

The hotel was great right in the middle of old town Lisbon. But what makes it a good place to stay was the staff. They took the extra mile to help me surprise my partner. They were helpful from the min I contacted them. The lady that works during the day and the 2 gentlemen that work in the night. I defenatly book again. Amazing weekend I had there. Thank to you all

The studios and apartments have a kitchenette, dining area and a private bathroom. Bairro Alto is nearby and has a wide range of restaurants and bars. It is 1 km from Cais do Sodre, which faces the Tagus River and has various bars and cafes. Historical Rossio is 1.4 km away. The iconic Sao Jorge Castle is 2.5 km from the units. Portela International Airport is a 17-minute drive from the 54 Santa Catarina.
We (my wife and I) stayed here April 26, 2022 for 4 nights. The staff is super helpful and communicative. They arranged for transfer from airport, called taxis, informed us on how use bolt (Portugal version of Uber), assisted in making train reservations, and also made recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing (Sintra) which saved us many Euro. The apartment itself is very spacious, quiet, well located and super clean.THANK U Paulo and Mercedes and Patricia for ALL your help. Highly Recommended for your stay in Lisbon. Terru

Good points-excellent sound proofing windows, powerful excellent shower, average breakfast. The shower and toilet are in smoky glassed cubicles separated by a wash hand basin, if you are travelling with a partner/ friend be prepared to get intimately acquainted ( you can see through the glass). Unfortunately customer service needs some attention. We were planning a day trip, I asked the manager if we could have an earlier breakfast at 07.00hrs ( normal breakfast hours are between 08.00-11.00hrs), we had already prepaid for all of our breakfasts. The answer I received took me aback, the manager promptly replied that 'it's impossible'. I found this attitude quite astonishing. He did not make any attempt to suggest a solution to our dilema, he was clearly not interested, perhaps a job in hospitality doesn't suit him. Another morning I asked the waitress at breakfast for black tea, she simply replied that there wasn't any before another manager attended and pointed them out to her. Customer service does need addressing here. The matress is covered with one sheet. As Alex Polizzi points out, the mattress is the first thing she looks at when entering a hotel room, a mattress should be double sheeted otherwise you're stewing in other people's juices.

We stayed with family in two separate apartments which shared one floor. The positives were the size of the rooms and the roof terrace views. The area is bustling at night but looks a bit shabby during the day but it’s only a short walk to the main areas. These apartments are spread over two houses and so when you get out of the lift on the fifth floor in one house you have to go out across a fire escape and down a floor into the next block to some apartments, be aware of this when you arrive as carrying large suitcases was a faff and quite difficult. Our apartment was spacious and generally clean ( apart from the bathroom ) and over looked the street with three large windows and a small balcony, however the railings really do need looking at and I wouldn’t want small children near them. Our first impression was ok but we noticed a few nails sticking out from the floorboards which were dangerous, we mentioned this at reception on our way out and we covered them with shoes. This was not addressed at all during our 4 night stay, they simply needed hammering down, not good ! My dads apartment bizarrely didn’t have a kettle, even though you are given tea bags each morning and when he mentioned this he just got a shrug of the shoulders. Very odd as we had one and no attempt was made to get one for his room. Breakfast is ok, it arrives in a large tin outside your door each day at 8am. The fruit was never fresh ( apples not good ) but you get fresh rolls, ham, cheese and salami, yoghurts, croissants and various jams and cartons of juice and so is adequate to set you up for the morning. You also get coffee pods to use in the coffee machine but even after cleaning this in the dishwasher I didn’t want to use it as it had green spores in the water tank. Any extra tea, coffee you have to pay for. We didn’t use any of this but it’s there if you need it. Now the worst part became apparent on day two, that’s when the raw sewerage smell began to creep into the bathroom, it’s foul ! I ended up holding my nose to go into the shower etc, the smell was awful. We even contemplated using my dads bathroom but as we were out for most of the day we managed and showered quickly at night, it’s not pleasant at all and made me feel ill and if we had stayed any longer I would have asked to be moved, although doubt we would have gotten anywhere with that request. There was also a hole in the bath and it was dirty around the edges as well. When I mentioned the smell at checkout, again a shrug, apparently it’s because they are near the river, although the other apartment wasn’t like it. Obviously an issue as I’ve seen the same thing mentioned in another review. My dads towels one day look liked they had been eaten by moths and ours weren’t much better. Also beware, you can hear every noise above you. One night a couple checked out at 4am and I lay awake for an hour as they scrapped their cases around, opened and shut wardrobes, everything creaked, I thought it was a burglary but as I couldn’t sleep I looked through the spy hole to see the couple disappear down the stairs with their cases, it’s an old building I realise but you really can hear everything from above, even phones on vibrate. The area comes alive at night and although noisy outside it’s ok once the windows and shutters are closed. If you are a light sleeper ask for a bedroom at the back overlooking the courtyard or stay elsewhere. A very sour note was that upon checkout we paid cash for our very small ‘extras’ bill, this was for bottles of water from the fridge, our bill was 2 euros. Back home my credit card has been debited for around 6 euros from the hotel, this wasn’t unauthorised by me and nobody has responded to my emails, a pattern here I think, we owed nothing at all ! This is very unprofessional. I’m not sure I trust them to be honest. Each time we mentioned something (politely) we got nowhere, just a shrug and this appears to be the same with the unauthorised charge. This place could be so much better but I wouldn’t stay again or recommend it for the above reasons. This is an honest review.

I made a reservation for this hotel 6 months ago and two days before the departure Booking sent me a message from the hotel informing me that it was canceled and the reason was "overbooking" !!!!!!!! I don't have any words to describe this way of treating clients!!!!!!! so be careful if you are planning a stay with them.

With elegantly decorated accommodation, Brown's Boutique Hotel offers a central location in Lisbon, a 5-minute walk from Chiado and Bairro Alto. It includes free WiFi access and designer furniture. All units are air-conditioned and include an iHome docking station, Nespresso machine, Smeg kettle and private marble bathroom. Some are equipped with an iMac computer and an iPad.
I stayed in room 501 which has 2 lovely floor to ceiling windows that open to tiny balconies. The room is small but well designed. I could only open my suit case on the bed but could easily slide it under for storage. The shower is part of the bedroom and as I was alone, this was not an issue. But if traveling with a non-romantic partner, it could get awkward. The location was perfect for me as I wanted to be near many touristy things. If you're looking for a more non-tourist experience, staying in the Al Fama area is probably a better option, but lugging suitcases around that neighborhood would be a nightmare. As a single woman, I felt very safe walking around Lisbon, especially in the area where the hotel was located. Lisbon is hilly so bring comfy shoes and plan well. I think the best option is to start at the top by the castle and wind you way down. You'll still be tired but less tired than if you walk up and ride down. Use the trolleys. They are fun and easy. If you have time, go to the beach. The beaches are beautiful! The staff at Brown's Boutique were especially helpful and pleasant. They were very contientious about not having guests wait and to help right away. I'd stay here agin without question.
