Much of the old town district of Chania was developed around its harbor, which was built by the Venetians during the 14th century. Its lighthouse still proudly overlooks the Mediterranean. Here you’ll find several cinemas and historical attractions like the Archaeological Museum, a collection of Minoan and Roman artifacts that’s housed in the former Monastery of Saint Francis. Word nerds will especially enjoy the Museum of Typography.

We stayed four nights in Chania at Hanim and we are absolutely amazed by the hospitality of Vrana, Rena and Sokrates - the rooms were big, comfortable and equipped with everything you need - every day, we received valuable advice from Vrana and Rena about where to go and eat and how to best explore Crete - and the breakfast, omg, we never had something like this: Sokrates prepares this every day fresh, four courses, with only local/regional ingredients- super tasty If you want to learn how the real “Crete” feels, go there. Overall, one of the best hotel stays we ever had- thank you so much team, you are awesome.

I was blown away by this amazing deal while staying in Crete. The location was in the vicinity where we wanted to stay- close by the historic town of Chania. I received a nice email prior to my stay and arranged to have the host hold our bags since we were arriving early. We were greeted by the host when we arrived early, and she was so warm and welcoming! She gave us so many tips and recommendation and a nice map with ideas of where to go. We were walking distance from the main part of the historic town and very close by the beach. The facilities were every clean and décor was fun and very modern. It had an open air feel and vibe to it. The hostess went above and beyond to help arrange for a car rental which they brought and picked up right to our hotel! Everyone spoke perfect English which was very helpful. The apartment was a 2 bedroom for 4 of us and had a nice small kitchen and private patio. The showers were hot, and bathroom was spacious. The price for this place was amazing. It really was top notch and so affordable. I would recommend this place for your stay in Crete. I would also visit the open-air restaurant right beside the hotel. The food was authentic, and the house white wine was a steal!

A lovely quiet room in an enchanting part of the Old Town, just in front of a beautiful square, which has the most elegant ambience. The staff are lovely and Yiannis (I think he is the manager) is one of the kindest, most welcoming people I have ever met. He was so generous he made my trip feel like I was at home. Thank you Yiannis!

Sorry this had taken so long to write. I was just debating whether to let everyone know how fantastic this place is because I might not be able to book an apartment if it gets too popular!!! But if you want a piece of heaven on earth then come here. It is perfectly positioned 10 steps from the beach 10 steps from the beautiful beach bar /taverna !!! The apartments have everything you could wish for a/c wi fi all the self catering facilities you would want but do yourselves a favour and eat at their taverna best food in gerani!! Maria kostas mum dad and all the family make this place truly special. You come as a guest and leave as a lifelong friend. They make your holiday truly special and full of happy memories. As I mentioned in a previous review I have never been back to the same place twice but now I’ve come back for a third time this place is really that good. But don’t take my word for it try it for yourself you won’t want to leave!!!!Love to all especially Lilly and nahlia and the new arrival when he /she comes.!!!

Iason Studios is a small family business and includes five studios in a two-storey building with private bathroom, kitchen facilities, and balcony. The building is situated on the west side of the old town, with no traffic, just a few meters from the old Venetian harbour where you can find most of the historical sites of the city of Hania as well as many places for entertainment.
just to say i concur with all the wonderful reviews people have made about Iiason studios and the wonderful host Despina, we stayed here for 5/6 nights and could not have asked for more. Any help we needed from Despina such as organising taxi to airport was sorted no problem.

Elia Kentron an adult project! The “Elia Kentron” is in the historic center of Chania at Chortatson square, next to the Municipal Market. The “Elia Kentron ” is a restored, neoclassical stone building consisting of 8 rooms in total, addressing only adults. The combination of stone and wood in the architectural design of the building offers a feel of romance and nostalgia. The rooms are equipped with air conditioning, a fridge, satellite TV, a safebox, and an espresso coffee maker. One has a choice of rooms with or without a balcony, overlooking either the pedestrian alley with the shops or the Chortatson square and the Municipal market. There are two attics available with roof windows to enjoy the Cretan blue sky, the bright stars, the grey clouds and even the rain. Some of the rooms even have jacuzzi for a deeper relaxation in a hospitable ambience.
Let’s start with the ups shall we. 1. Clean 2. Supermarket right next door 3. Location was pretty good Downs 1. Unstaffed .. I was traveling alone and coming home at night was a bit scary . Also no one to ask questions to however they have a sister hotel just down the road so if you needed anything they were helpful 2. It’s kind of tucked away and so at night your walking thorough and empty parking lot with locals . Usually drunk men just hanging about in packs. Traveling alone this is a little off putting for me

I Booked an apartment from Sorta Apartments four months before our holiday. Waited for the holiday and then the owner e-mailed me two weeks before the trip that he did a mistake and he had overbooked the apartment. He just said that I have to cancel my booking. I replied that I cannot cancel it because there was only two weeks time to find another place to stay and it was High season on July. He didn't answer to that e-mail ever. Two weeks was the time that you can cancel the booking without any additional costs (on a booking site where I made the booking), so it was pretty clear that he did it on purpose. He waited until the end of time if someone would cancel his booking, no one canceled, so then he tried to cancel my booking in a way that no one would know about the overbooking. He told to the booking site that I want to cancel my booking (which I didn't want, obviously), and if I push the button on the E-mail he sent to me, no one would ever know what he had done. I don't know how good the apartment is, but the owner is crooked, Beware!
