Been to several live music events here, the latest being the tribute band Beach Boys Smile. They were brilliant, always have a great night at the Paramount.

Born out of a derelict Methodist Chapel, the venue has been developed by a hard-working group of volunteers, who work alongside a small team of staff which include a Theatre Manger, Technical Manager, Box Office Manager, Bar Manager and Theatre Technician. Regular visitors are amazed at the changes which are made to make theatre-going in Barnsley a pleasure.
Fantastic show, very well acted and put together, by all concerned. Heart warming show. The lamproom is a lovely little theatre, comfortable seats, nice bar area and very friendly staff

Went to see an amazing production of the 39 steps. What a gem of a theatre supported by a local theatre group and enthusiastic audiences. A friendly place with the opportunity for a drink before the performance and at the interval. Worth seeking out, plenty of on street parking.

The Montgomery is a theatre and arts centre based in the heart of Sheffield. We specialise in children's and family programming, promoting professional touring performances and workshops, whilst also being the performing home of many community theatre companies, dance schools and schools. Our gallery space is used to exhibit works by local community artists. We also have a Creative Resource Library. We are the home to Storytelling With A Twist's Creative Reminiscence Collection and Godly Play.

The Civic, Barnsley is a multi-storey, multi-purpose arts centre seeking to bring wide-ranging, contemporary artforms to appreciative audiences from Barnsley and beyond. As a proud supporter of the arts in South Yorkshire, The Civic showcases high-quality performances and exhibitions not usually associated with a centre of its size or regional location, and is instrumental in bringing world-class touring theatre, music and arts groups en route to larger UK cultural centres and other venues around the globe. Comprising a large auditorium, the Assembly Room - accommodating the best in UK theatre, dance, comedy, music, cabaret, independent and classic regional film screenings and family productions - in addition to a large art gallery (Gallery), which hosts a wide variety of innovative and exciting exhibitions dealing with all aspects of art, design and craft, The Gallery programme consists of curated shows and touring exhibitions which work in conjunction with the V&A, Crafts Council, Tate and Design Museum London, as well as with curators here in Barnsley. The building also has a large Panorama display and event space, working offices and several work hubs, as well as boasting a blend of historic and modern architecture enhanced by the adjacent Mandela Gardens. This public space was redeveloped in 2009 for the first time since the 1980s, and also includes facilities for outdoor performances. Gallery: Tuesday - Saturday, 10am-5pm (last admission is 15 minutes prior to closing time) Box Office: Monday - Friday, 10am-5pm / Saturday, 10am-4pm Sunday, 10am-4pm (on family performance days)

A brilliant show at the Lyceum last night, with the hit musical returning to Sheffield after its run at the West End. The whole cast were fantastic and the story, songs and staging result in a memorable show. My kids particularly enjoyed the various Sheffield references and in-jokes throughout.

We've just seen Life of Pi here, which is being given 5 stars by every reviewer, and it fully exploits the potential of the Crucible's wonderful theatre in the round design - a stunning production in every way and an extraordinary set (watch for the first time the full-size boat rises from the level stage, rotates, and then waves roll back and forth across the stage). The theatre was absolutely packed and rightly so for one of the most impressive performances we've seen here in around 30 years of regular theatre-going.

Jamie Cullum did Sheffield City Hall proud last night. Wow what a great concert venue this is! Wonderful architecture, great acoustics, superb views and very friendly staff. First concert I attended here was T.Rex in the early seventies, great memories. Highly Recommend
