A horse-drawn carriage ride around the cobblestone streets and grand buildings of Vieux-Montréal will give you a taste of European flavor. The Basilique Notre-Dame is a confection of stained glass, and the Plateau Mont-Royal district will delight you with its quaint boutiques and cafés. Founded in 1981 in Montreal, Arion Baroque Orchestra is now a cornerstone in the world of early music on period instruments in Quebec and Canada. The clarity and freshness of Arion’s interpretations have been remarked upon since its first concerts; the delicacy of its readings of well-chosen and varied works has never wavered in more than 30 years.

Mile-End is a quaint yet contemporary quarter teaming with multiculturalism and filled with cafés, bars, restaurants, specialty grocery shops, boutiques, galleries, hot yoga spots, great bakeries and Montreal-style bagels served fresh and hot. Many of its residents are eco-friendly and artistic -- in summer, it is not unusual to see guitarists strumming a tune.
If you want to experience Montreal's history, Mile-End is the place to visit. A virtual melting pot with amazing stores and restaurants and home to Leonard Cohen. Many books have been written about this little pocket of Montreal.

My wife and I were in Montreal on vacation and looking for some live jazz. Other clubs were full, but came across this place. Walked in on a Friday night about 20 minutes before the music started. Got a seat right in front. Place began to fill up. Three young kids playing jazz (bass, drums and sax...4th member was delayed getting there at start)....and man could they play! All were strong players, playing hard be-bop jazz. Definitely recommend the club and the music...and no cover charge. Drinks were reasonably priced. Very large whiskey collection. Worth checking out. Had a great time.
Great theatre begins with great writing. We believe that the most effective way to put the challenges, diversity and possibilities of our contemporary life on the stage is by seeking out, developing, showcasing and brokering original plays by our own Québec playwrights and, since 2016, also the work of Indigenous writers from across Canada.
