February 24, 2022 Esmeralda Fenner

Lying at the heart of Norway’s Western Fjord area, Hordaland is home to culturally rich Bergen, the country’s second largest city. Hardangerfjord, Norway’s second-longest fjord (and the third-longest in the world), is here too, and cruising along its scenic 110 miles is a top area activity. Leirvik, the second-biggest town in Hordaland, has the interesting open-air Sunnhordland Folk Museum. Set atop one of the country’s biggest glaciers, Folgefonna National Park has a popular summer ski center.

I was looking for a traditional spa and came across this in my Google search. It was an interesting concept and the reviews were stellar. I went in without researching the background on floating. First of all, Just saying, you are greeted in a warm friendly and professional atmosphere. Frude and Christopher were knowledgeable and informative and even the clients in the waiting room gave input. Now regarding the actual floating. There is so much salt that you effortlessly float in the center of the pod. The temperature is the same as you body and and some point you feel separated from your body. I particularly was fascinated with the absence of sensation in my hands and finger tips. Just DO IT. Whether it is a one time occurrence, which it definitely won’t be, you won’t be sorry you had the experience. Best $65 dollars I’ve spent in a long time. I will be back.

Moster Amfi

A uniqe historical facility, in the heart of the great Viking History of Norway. This is the place where Christianity first where formalised in Norway by King Olav II Haraldsson, later known as Saint Olav, back in 1024 . Inside the park you can visit the oldest church in Norway, with interior from early 1600 intact. You can follow the guides who will take you 1000 years back in time, to the period of transition from the Old Gods in the Vikingera to the new religion, Christianity. Inside, you can experience several different cultural programs throughout the season. Inside an old limestone mine lies Northern Europe's most beautiful outdoor amphitheater with room for 1200. Here you can experience musicals, theater productions, concerts and more. There are several hiking trails in the area, a fantastic bathing spot located in a marble mine, feel free to ask in the cafe for tips. Food based on local ingredients is also served here.
