Home of the ex-Regal/ABC Derby Mighty Compton Cinema Organ. Only open on concert days. Please see website for details of concerts.
Just walked out of Pipes in the Peak, having listened to Phil Kelsall (principal organist at Blackpool Tower) for two hours. I’m up in the air. What an organist, what technique, and what a fantastic organ to perform on. An enormous credit to Mr D Thorp ( the owner) who fulfilled his dream! Not just a Crompton organ, but a piece of magic with added extras. It’s a must for anyone to visit. A glass of wine, coffee and biscuits, an incredible afternoons entertainment. All for £12. Never mind the surrounding countryside as an added bonus. This is the best attended “organ” venue in the U.K. , and I can’t recommend it highly enough. (I’m a semi pro musician, have been for the last 50 years, so I’ve got a good ear)!

Our clubroom can be hired for a wide range of different occasions.
There was a range of excellent talent, from all ages and I really enjoyed it. There are lots of opportunities and lots of things to do there

The Crystal Ballroom is Glossop's largest performance venue, hosting events every weekend - Glossop Comedy Club on the last Sunday of every month, local and international live music acts from every genre, tribute acts, themed nights, band nights, celebrity DJ nights, discos and more. The Crystal Ballroom occupies a large, renovated space within the former Glossop Conservative Club building, with a room capacity of 180. Originally built in 1909, The Ballroom’s stunning Edwardian architecture creates a spectacular and versatile space perfect for live music and events. It is located in the gateway to The Peak District in High Peak, Derbyshire. Just 30 minutes east of Manchester, neighbouring Tameside and Stockport. Our venue is also available to hire for private functions including Weddings, Birthdays, Engagements, Retirements and more.
I have attended the comedy night twice now and each time it has been thoroughly enjoyable. The acts are great, venue provides a fantastic atmosphere, staff are welcoming and above all the night is great fun for friends and family to attend together. Will most certainly be coming back again

If you're looking for things to do in Dronfield then Dronfield Players offer lots of options from going to see a play at the civic centre to joining the group and getting involved with any of the backstage or onstage roles. They're a lively and welcoming group and fun to be part of.

Car parking outside for the disabled or many carparks around if not. Beautiful old theatre. We went to see a film. Cheaper than the cinema. There are a few steps to the bar or you can avoid the area and go into the screening. The chairs are reasonably comfortable and clean Lovely evening out

Derby Theatre has a long and rich history of delivering high quality drama to audiences. Previously Derby Playhouse, our unique new partnership with University of Derby and an Arts Council England award of strategic funding, which will be built on via our entry into their National Portfolio in April 2015, now means Derby Theatre is transforming from a traditional producing house to an organisation of training, mentorship and artistic excellence. Led by Artistic Director and Chief Executive Sarah Brigham, Derby Theatre is bringing together creative professionals and audiences to tell compelling stories and take artistic risks as we emerge as a vibrant, thriving theatre. We combine this professional programme with an exciting suite of undergraduate and postgraduate courses and an emerging talent programme aimed at developing the next generation of artists. Meanwhile our community engagement programme reaches out across our region including people of all ages and from all backgrounds in our unique offer. 'A generous hearted enjoyable night out and the spirits rise to see Derby Theatre packed, bursting at the seams with laughter and - under its new Artistic Director, Sarah Brigham - full of real ambition.' Lyn Gardner The Guardian
Wasn’t sure what to expect having never been to this theatre before. Love the fact we could make a day out of our trip. Plenty of parking to choose from. A wander round the stores then watching a show and wow what a great show it was! Absolutely gripped from the start with an impressive stage setting and a great opening. This performance of a Christmas Carol is easily one of the best shows I have ever seen. Well done to a very professional cast. Will definitely be returning
