I am a university professor who currently teaches food education in the Faculty of Education. We have run cooking classes for many Japanese children and parents. Would you like to learn how to cook the dishes that Japanese people eat at home, not the food that you eat in the shop, and touch Japanese culture?

No.1 cooking class between Osaka station and Namba station. Basically 2-3 participants, so that you can decide the menu! Vegetarian and vegan customer is welcomed! Only sightseeing? How about to look inside of local kitchen during your stay in Japan? It's more than just a tourist experience!
Meeting and making lunch with Yoko was a fantastic experience and a great way to start our trip in Japan. We learnt so much about Japanese flavours and food culture, and made a delicious lunch of sushi rolls, gyoza, miso and two salads. Yoko was so lovely and interesting, answered my endless questions - like whether it’s true sushi shouldn’t be eaten with chopsticks - and had loads of great advice for a few days eating and drinking in Osaka. Thank you Yoko!

Yayo is a wonderful teacher and host, she welcomed me in her home and taught me how to make okonomiyaki and takoyaki. We also made matcha tea and taiyaki. She packed all I couldn’t eat for me to eat later and it was wonderful! Thank you Yayo-san for being so lovely! I had a great time with you!! Valentina

This place is awesome. Simply awesome. First of all the staff is super friendly and accommodating. While we were in Osaka we scheduled a private class for the same day and they arranged everything to make it happen. I don’t speak a word of Japanese but one of their employees, Peter, acted as a translator. Peter is the man. He provided us with a deep history lesson of Taiko drums; from how they’re made to their effects on modern medicine & science. He knows his stuff and clearly has a passion for the art of taiko. The studio is fairly easy to find if you have the exact address. It’s right below the train tracks of the Hankyu line - it’s very close to one of the stops. Another reason why Peter is great is that he met us at the station and walked us to the studio. He also walked us out and talked to the individual behind the ticket counter to make sure we got on the right track back to our hotel. The studio itself is very clean and well-kept. They have plenty of drums that are in great shape. The instructor himself has been practicing for 25 years and is a great teacher. Our class was an hour long and we were enthralled for every minute of it. Even though we only paid for a class we were given a free demonstration from the instructor and again, it was fantastic. I can honestly go on to continue praising this place but you have to experience it for yourself. I can’t recommend this place enough.
