Signals is a centre for creative digital learning. It specialises in film education and uses digital production for social, learning and creative outcomes. We’re a multi award winning arts and education charity that provides courses, workshops and projects across the region. Originally created by a committed group of filmmakers, Signals became established as a community media and video workshop in 1988. Based in Colchester Essex, Signals developed into a regional resource and facility for filmmaking and digital arts.Our community projects enable disadvantaged groups to work on production projects, giving participants digital media skills and a voice. We work with groups through the whole production process helping participants realise their potential and share their stories.

We are a paint your own ceramics studio, and gift shop. We also serve freshly ground coffee, teas, and cakes/snacks.

Mersea Island Cookery School is in a beautifully restored barn, with views across the Blackwater estuary. The school offers a fully equipped kitchen with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Established in 1967, Copford Cricket Club is one of the most picturesque village cricket clubs in the Country. It is set within the grounds of the historic Copford Hall with ample parking and our famous oak tree on the edge of the square. We have two senior Saturday teams and an excellent colts section ranging from 5-16 years with experienced coaches to meet all needs.

Leisure World Tiptree shares its facilities with the local Thurstable School and Sports College and is open to the public 7 days a week. The centre boasts many excellent facilities including a 3rd Generation football pitch with floodlights, fitness suite and a climbing wall. Many different clubs such as football, badminton and an internationally recognised rollerskating club (TARSC) operate out of the site. There are fitness classes, children's coaching courses and adult sports sessions. Facilities can be booked on a pay and play basis and fitness membership options are available. Equipment can be hired for a number of sports if you do not have your own.
