Church of St. John the Baptist

Reviewed By sergeyk147

Very old. Very pious. Sacred. I visited it together with my friend in the beginning of April. Thanks God, it was a low season and Tuesday so there were no omnipresent obnoxious chirping tourists inside. People just prayed, lit candles, kissed icons. Like it must be in an Orthodox church. Recommended (hats off for men, heads covered for women, appropriate dress for everyone).

Cathedral of St. Nicholas

Reviewed By sergeyk147

This is obviously the most beautiful building in the city. Me and my wife visited it in the middle of April. There was some Mass inside, people prayed and took communion so I decided not to take pictures and disrupt the piousness. It was quite sumptuous inside - a rich chandelier, brand new murals, icons in opulent rizas, posh vestments of the clergy. The cathedral is nicely illuminated by night and looks even better then. Recommended!
