We visited last Saturday and very much enjoyed the exhibition. Great for fans and non fans of Star Wars. My eleven year old son thought it was fantastic and was able to name and identify nearly all characters and scenes. What a collection! Star Wars fans truly must see. The museum owner was super friendly and very happy to speak in English. He also offered us an audio guide in English. Well worth a visit.

Situated directly on the river Anger and embedded in an old English landscape park is one of the oldest preserved industrial plants in Germany: the Cromford cotton spinning mill in Ratingen. Founded in 1783/84 by the Wuppertal businessman and entrepreneur Johann Gottfried Brügelmann, it is today considered the first fully mechanical cotton spinning mill on the European continent. The early industrial plant from the late 18th century has been almost completely preserved: the five-story "Hohe Fabrik" and the late baroque Cromford Manor - today both buildings of the LVR Industrial Museum, the "Alte Fabrik", the simple workers' apartments, the office and the wheelhouse, which once housed the water wheel.

The Altenberg zinc factory is expected to be closed until 2023 due to reconstruction measures. A new permanent exhibition is planned. It will relate more strongly to the zinc factory than before. The life and work of the people in the region will take center stage. The curators want to pursue the question of how industry and its development has influenced the people. Current changes and the question of the future of work will also be examined. As the site of the LVR Industrial Museum, the Rheinisches Landesmuseum fur Industrie- und Sozialgeschichte, these areas will naturally continue to be the focus of attention.
