Moinesti Jewish Cemetery

You can reach the cemetery by turning directly off the Nicolae Sova public road, near another town attraction, Padurea cu Pini. The cemetery isn't open for the public, but the nearest neighbour has the key from the gates. He is very friendly and helpful and there is no entree fee.

The cemetery is really original and it has to be seen if you decided to visit Maramu’. The cross with the message for the mother in law was my favorite. ????

The cemetery is a gem and the grave markers are wonderful folk art and interesting to explore. We were there on a Sunday morning so he’d the added atmospheric bonus of the church service. It was great to see the local girls in their traditional dress.

.. it is filled with famous people. It is a big cemetery & nicely maintained. I think you need a map to find people. I managed to use my memory and great navigation skills and remembered where my uncle was buried. It was quite an adventure. Cemeteries are very important for Romanians!
