Landesplattenberg Engi

It's my first time visiting this place even though I have been living in the same canton for more than 9 years. Quite surprised to see how old it was and a very long labyrinth as well. Good visit of almost 2 hours

Tamina Gorge

We got onto the Postbus at the train station which has automated pay parking stalls. It costs 11CHF for a round trip bus trip that’s payable to the driver in cash only. The alternative to getting there is the hike which is walking along the same road that the bus takes. We saw quite a few people walking, but the bus did get close to them at time due to the narrow width of the road. Once we arrived at the top, there is a restaurant with a pay station inside that accepts coins and bills (we had better luck with coins so try to have those). You receive a ticket that you scan at the entrance of the gorge to go through the turn style. There is not a place to buy tickets at the gorge itself. There was a full sit down restaurant and also a small café/snack bar. The snack bar had pizza and cheese plates but we didn’t see a menu posted (in English). The restaurant looked nice but we didn’t eat there. The building itself was quite lovely with a nice outdoor seating area. The gorge itself was amazing. Bring a raincoat if you don’t want to get wet as there’s so water dripping at times. Make sure to go all the way inside the gorge to the end of the trail to see the actual thermal water source & original tunnels. We were there 1.5 hours and didn’t have time to see the museum.

Come and explore the unique dripstone caverns in the Lorze ravine at Baar! The fairytale rock formations are a delight for young and old – you can show your grandchildren the enchanting variety of shapes and colours in the caves or join your godchildren on a magical adventure with Tüüfeli, the cave spirit. A perfect destination for families, schools, hikers and clubs.

I have visited Swiss caves in Baar over a week ago and as well few months back. I found the place really beautiful and came back to explore it once more and record video from that trip (channel: Healing Sound of Nature). I can definitely recommend it only over the week day as on weekend it gets really crowded and full of families with kids. You should as well follow the river on the side as the sound of water ???? is really peaceful and calming. Pls check the video posted on YT from HSN Healing Sound of Nature: “Caves HÖLLGROTTEN - best places to see in Switzerland, HSN” and as well relaxing nature sounds from that place in video “Relaxing Nature Sound of Forest and River for relaxing, anti stress, sleep, meditation”

Grottes de Vallorbe

The Caves at Vallorbe (Canton de Vaud) in the Swiss Jura were opened to the public a quarter of a century ago. They afford a spectacular display of the beauty of natural rock, enhanced entirely by natural illumination. For millions of years the limestone layers were eroded by the Orbe, a river which runs underground before bursting from the rocks – seemingly as a natural spring of which the Vallorbe Caves are the faithful guardians. Inside these caves, which are among the most beautiful in Europe, there is a display – the “Fairies’ Treasure” in which more than 250 mineral samples from all over the World are exhibited in four domed rooms hewn from the natural rock.

This is an amazing place to visit and worth spending some time. Plenty of language translations available. Take your time to walk along the Orbe and discover the caves. Great route through spectacular formations with a highlight at the end. Enjoy the views, nature and the ambiance. This is a unique place and you definitely must see it.
