The brekov castle is a valuable historical sight of the upper Hungary’s construction style. It has endured until today. Today it’s a popular destination for both the tourists and history enthusiasts.

Went from Poland to spend half day in this castle, with my family. Really worth the visit. Well organised, explained and nice historical place. Kids enjoyed a lot. Views from the tower, are really enjoyable. Located in the outskirts of Stara Lubovna, 15km away from the Polish border. In the same complex, there is also a Skansen (place reproducing how people were living centuries ago). With the same ticket, you have access to all: castle & Skansen. Will probably come back to have also a walk in Stara Lubovna as we had to come back and could not do so.

Kezmarok Castle is quite nice to see. It was renovated and it has nice exhibitions regarding the history of Kezmarok and owners of the castle. They have also outdoor activities happening there during the summer like concerts or theatre. Just check at the entrance. It would be nice to have a guide also in English but they gave us the script so we could follow the guide.
