Absolutely unbelievable! Dramatic cliffs and a 120m deep gorge that carries "Río Guadalevin" through its center! The canyon splits the city in two: "La Ciudad" (the Old Town) and "El Mercadillo" (the New Town) - and connecting both "towns", awesome "Puente Nuevo". From the many existing "miradores", unforgettable views and fond memories to take home. You cannot dare to miss it! Enjoy!

We came to Nerin to see and hike this canyon after one week hiking in and around the Ordesa near Torla. This Canyon has quite different charateristics than the Faja trails in Ordesa. It is like a slot canyon cut through by a river. We started from the second parking after having entered the canyon from the side of Nerin. The hike is slightly less strenuous than in Ordesa, has shade most of the time (quite sunny and hot in July) and yet beautiful. We hiked until La Ripareta where we took a rest and soaked our feet in the chilling river. Then we continued until Pasarela Los Estrechos where there is another waterfall, a bridge and rocks to sit on. This second part was slightly more difficult than the first part, yet manageable if one is normally fit. It is not a circular treck. We decided to back track after rest point at Pasarela Los Estrechos. This canyon is less known and less touristic. However, we rate the hike higher than those in the Ordesa. The logistic of this canyon is also less convenient. If you enter from the side of Nerin by car, you have to park your car in the first parking and walk down the road for minimum 30 minutes to hike into the canyon at the second parking. The second parking can only be reached by car from the side of Vio. This main part of the canyon can be driven though but in one direction, from south to north. We found this arrangement very inconvenient. The way how it is "designed" confirms that it is not catered for mass tourism, unlike in the Ordesa. However, it is free of charge :-))

Definitely one od the must of Mallorca for nature lovers. For those who enjoy the cycling also the road to this place is stunning, but also if you go with a car, you will enjoy in stunning views on the way. In the time of my visit there were so many cyclist on the road that you get the impression that you are in the middle of peleton on the Giro d' Italia or Tour de France. When you reach Port de Sa Calobra there is large parking with enough parking lots (at the time of our visit at around 11:00 a.m. there were no problem to find parking space). From the parking there is a nice short wlak to the village and from there under the two tunnels (with lights) to the Torrent de Pareis (worth to take time - few hours for walk).

The best trek in the "Picos de Europa" in northern Spain. The circuits traverses the incredible and spectacular mountains of the National Park: the gorges, the valleys, the vast glacial lakes, the rocky crests, the forest, and the best way to get to know them is on foot.

Caminito del Rey is an itinerary that will let you walk across the heart of Desfiladero de los Gaitanes (Gaitanes Ravine) throgugh the gateways attached to a rock one hundred meters above the ground, discovering remote landscapes and experiencing vertiginous feelings that only experienced climbers could feel until now.
This is a must do when you are visiting the Costa del Sol. The Caminito del Rey is a 45 min by car journey from Malaga. It’s near the town of Ardales. We booked a guided tour few weeks before we visited. On arrival ( make sure you are in the right entrance), we parked our car on the side of the road, however, if this is not available you can pay €2 to park your car near the entrance. The main entrance is 1.5 km from the main road. There are toilet facilities right at the entrance gate. The Caminito del Rey is a 5 km path built on the side of great and magnificent canyons 100 meters above the Rio Gualdalhorce, we went on a guided tour and the guide was very informative. The path itself was safe, the views of the surrounding canyons, the river below and mountain ranges beyond were jaw dropping and amazing. Looking down was a tad scary but that’s how you can appreciate the scale of the canyons and the path. Tip: Do try to book an early slot, it opens at 09:30 am, our tour was 10 am and there were not a lot of people that time, when we finished our tour and we went back to the main entrance, it was so busy and heaving with tourists.
