When most people think of Norway, the Western Fjords area is what they picture, with its stunningly beautiful deep waterways carved through rugged mountains by ice age glaciers. Several of the world’s tallest waterfalls are here too, adding to the splendor. An incredible region for cruising, hiking, fishing, biking, rafting, canoeing and summer skiing, the region is also home to fascinating cities like Bergen, Stavanger and Alesund, each chock-full of unique and interesting urban activities.

Oldevatn Camping is set idyllically by Lake Oldevatn, surrounded by steep mountains and glaciers. When the snow melts the lake changes to a distinctive turquoise colour that our guests never have seen before. Oldevatn Camping achieved a 4 star classification in 2003, the same year that we built a new sanitary building. The sanitary building is well maintained and appears as new. Our main focus is service and cleanliness. It’s also important for us to have activities for all ages. We have lots of activities, for example a watertrampoline, SUP, rowboat, peddleboat, canoes, hiking and bicycles. We sell fishing licenses and fishing equipment in the reception. All activities except fishing are of course free of charge for our guests. The reception has a small selection of groceries. We have fresh bread and rolls every morning, just come by the day before to order it. We have highspeed internet on the entire campsite.
Bedbugs in the cabin. We are bitten all over. We had to wash all our clothes that we brought. Manager booked us a hotel for the rest of our stay. I would have given 5 stars if this didn't happen, but this experience really sucks. I have even bite marks in my face!

We stayed here in July 2021 for two nights (group of 9 including children split into two cabins). The location is about 5 minutes walk from the Tvinno bus stop. There is very limited bus connectivity to this place, so you need to plan your travel accordingly if you are using public transport like us. The bathroom and toilets are outside and in common area. You need to carry 10 Krone coins to use the shower where the water will come for 4 minutes, which was sufficient for most of us. There is no charge to use the toilet if you have already paid for the cabin or camping. (They provide you a code to unlock the toilet door.) There is a small shop which is also the reception. You can get some fast food items and something hot to drink (e.g. coffee) along with option to buy soviniers. This is also the place where you can make the room payments (if booking via booking.com). This is also where you can ask for the free WiFi password (the signal is not good near the reception, but better at the actual cabins (speeds around 5 Mbps when it works). The mobile signal is also OK though not as strong as in big cities. The main attraction is the private waterfall which is accessible from this property. It is possible to just climb up the stones and get very close to the waterfall. It gets colder at night and there are some mosquitos as well though not too many for such a location. It is also possible to pitch a tent there or bring your caravan there. Check the website for rates.

I always wanted to try the famous Norwegian "hytte", or cabins. I'd been in Eidfjor several times before, and I just loved this place. It had everything you could dream of; the magnificence of the landscape and the powerful colors of the fjords. So we tried this place. And let me tell you that it is just perfect. If you rent the larger cabins (four to six persons), you will enjoy a high level of comfort. Nice living room, large bathroom, and cleanness. At the same time, you are surrounded by the wildness of this very particular nature, being at the crossroad between the arctic landscape and the fjords. Short way to Eidfjor center and walking distance to the fabulous Vøringsfossen. If you like nature and comfort, this is the place to be. The restaurant nearby the cabins, that belongs to the same owner, has a limited menu, but the food is as excellent as local. Parking place just outside your cabin. You can eventually cook your own food, as the kitchen is well equipped.

The accommodation is very basic with small kitchen-dinning area and basic kitchen tools but the location, the surrounding area is fantastic and the views exceptional. The place is very quiet but people comes and goes daily.

Haraldshaugen Camping is a big and spacious camping site situated close to the sea. It is also next-door neighbor to Haraldsstotten (Norway’s National Monument) and Krosshaugen. The camping site is 3 kilometres from Haugesund town centre. Here you have a good view of the sea and the island Rovaer west of Haugesund. Close to the camping site there is a lovely trail to Kvalen lighthouse and Kvalsvik. Kvalsvik bathing place is popular in the summertime, with tables and barbeque facilities. The nearest shopping centre is only 400 metres away.
Very nice place, with a view to the North sea, and lots of hiking trails that take you around the area. A nice beach/bathing facility in the sea is within walking distance. The camping is a mix of caravans, camper cans, and small cabins. The staff is superfriendly, and very helpfulin finding the right spot that you want for your caravan. Very helpful, and nice place. Will definitely go again later.

This is a very pleasant place to stop for a night or two. On the water in beautiful « Oldendal» and just 20 minutes from the «Briksdal» glacier. With a number of viking trails accessable directly from the campsite. The facilites were clean though a little outdated and the camp was a little cramped. We would have given them 5 if not for this. The owners are pleasant and helpful. They have a selection of kajaks and boats that you can borrow free of charge. You can also rent an electric minicar for local trips.

We stayed a night with a campervan here, and we really enjoyed this campsite. It has all the amenities, a super friendly host, and a great location. Highly recommended for those planning to visiting Nigardsbreen glacier or something in the vicinity.
