We spent a long weekend there with our two kids (8 & 5 yo). We liked the clean house, the activities organized for the kids (while they were at the kid's club, we could chill and read), the activities for adults (I enjoyed yoga seances), the swimming pool with salty water. The breakfast (included in the offer we've had) was ok. The food (lunch, dinner) at the camping was nice, however the prices were quite high. The 3G doesn't really work there, and we had to pay extra for Wi-Fi, which we thought a bit ridiculous in this day and age. The beach is a 20 minutes walk through a forest. Some other (paid) activities near by (mini golf, surfing school, horses).

Site situated off main road but pitch was quiet and facilities good. On site shop basic and supermarket 2 miles distance. Good and reasonably priced restaurants within walking distance. Site was busy and not much space between pitches but some shade from the sun in the hot weather. Very helpful staff. Mix of cabins and camping pitches

Enjoyed our stay here, extending our stay by 4 nights. Reception was perfect, young lady jolly and helpful, just right here. Our 4 berth mobile home was cosy, but there was no excess space, not much room around the beds for example, and pretty close to neighbours, so considerate neighbours have to be hoped for. We particularly wanted somewhere close to la Rochelle, and this was ideal. Nice country walk nearby, great for our dog. The mobile home was clean and well equipped, only item we could think to be added would be a hair dryer. Beds are a good size, comfortable, and new duvets were supplied.

Who has not ever dreamed about sleeping in a hut floating on the water? The Floating Village of Pressac is an unusual place resolutely original and perfect for the family, for friends or for two romantic lovers. Come to sleep in floating huts, moored in the middle of a pond. Our huts are accessible by boat and by bridge. Our huts are equipped of comfortable beds, dry toilets and a sink.
First time eating at the ‘Floating Village’ restaurant. The food was excellent, good menu choice, setting beautiful, we sat outside overlooking the lake. The service was excellent too, our host was very knowledgeable and explained in detail what each of our meals consisted of. Would definitely recommend.

The positives first. The site is really attractive, well maintained and clean. The facilities are good, a large play area for children, a swimming pool, superb walking from the site. A good base to explore the island. The mobile homes are clean and in good overall condition, if rather cramped. You definitely need one with a terrace! The accommodation lacks any comfort- seating is poor, lighting is bright and clinical, the WC is very small and so are are the bedrooms. Softer lighting, especially bed side lights would be a great improvement but overall I did not think the internal design was very good. I used to have a touring caravan which was more spacious and more comfortable.

We stayed in the main castle (not the cabannes in the forest which were sold out). It was a wonderful and magic day and overnight stay. We participated in the treasure hunt around the castle grounds and forest which is lovingly organized by family members of the owners. It was fun, entertaining and educational for young and old. We also had a wonderful dinner and breakfast. Time really seems to stand still in this place. The hosts (Catherine and Denis) are thoughful, attentive and lovely. We can only recommend this place.

Between Bordeaux and La Rochelle, in Montendre, "Au Pays Des Bulles" is an unusual eco-friendly lodging. This place offers all the comforts of a hotel in a transparent bubble wilderness for a night under the stars.
My wife and I decided we would do something different and so we booked into the bubble for one night. We were welcomed by Pierre and Anne-Valarie who showed us around the place. They were wonderful - spotless English and some English humour to - we felt very much at home. You could not ask for better hosts. Then we were left alone in the privacy of our bubble in the forest. We sat out side on the veranda and drank some wine while the sun set and then went to bed gazing at the stars. It was breath taking! Below - I have ticked the Hotel boxes even though it is not a hotel but a private bubble in the forest grounds.

We enjoyed our stay here camping in our tent as it was a great base from which to see the local area. The cost per night was quite expensive with only a nominal reduction for being offseason. What the don't tell you on their web site is that only the basic facilities are open after late September. The swimming pool had shut as had the bar and restaurant! The toilets and showers were plentiful and clean. The tent pitches are limited to 12 places. They all had shade but were quite small so just about fitted our 4 man tent on the pitch area. Half the pitches are on a slight slope so avoid those if you can otherwise you will slide to one side of your tent in the night the other half are accessed by steep steps to the top of a slope. They can all get quite muddy if it rains. There was WIFI but this only worked near to reception and it had to be paid for. Not really great value for your money and not the most honest information on the web site. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
