I had a lovely stay at Whangarei Central Holiday Park. I stayed in a self contained studio. Everything was clean and well cared for, the bed was super comfy and it had everything I needed. Location was great, an easy (and flat) walk into town. Highly recommended.

Perfectly located by the beach. Campsite is large and well set-up. There is controlled entry and plenty of sites. Each site is large. Multiple facility blocks. Well maintained and clean. Each site is also close to grey water dump stations and fresh water taps. Only thing to watch out for is saturated grass after heavy rain.

Kauri Coast TOP 10 is a fantastic park to visit. The park is very well kept and there is plenty to do for a weekend in and around the park. The Eels and rope swing were a highlight. Dinner down the road at the tavern is a must-do

Friends recommended Ahipara as the perfect place to stop before going to Cape Reinga. There was a bit of confusion around camp grounds when we arrived (we used google maps and campermate), and we took a wrong turn, but eventually landed safely at Ahipara Holiday Park for the evening. Once we settled we jumped on our bikes and after just a few minutes were biking on 90 Mile Beach which was pretty cool. Hubby went for a swim as the sun was going down. Spectacular! As you enter the camp ground you drive down a long drive and there are security cameras. It did make us wonder where we had landed. But the grounds were lush, the toilets and facilities clean and the welcome was warm and friendly. We were in large self-contained camper vans and hubby decided that we could just drive around the sites and have a look - that wasn't such a great idea as our large campers were difficult to drive around the meandering site. If he had listened to the instructions it would have been fine to simple drive straight ahead and take our spot on the well presented, flat ground. So just a tip that if you do have campervans to be mindful of the size and perhaps walk the lots rather than drive.

We offer Waitangi accommodation including comfortable cabins and powered and non-powered camp sites, most with uninterrupted views of the Waitangi River. The Park provides a welcoming atmosphere and we try to make your stay as enjoyable as possible in relaxed surroundings. Our Bay of Islands accommodation is simple, but very clean and is suited to all budgets.
Arrived and was shown the park layout so we could choose our spot from the few pitches that were vacant. Picked a spot that at had a clear view. Spent three days here in total, but on day two, another Motorhome arrived that wanted to park right in front of us, literally 6 feet from our Motorhome in an unmarked pitch. Of course I asked him to move, but he wouldn’t. I approached the site reception staff who told me they told them to park there. And showed me a different pitch plan that had that space marked as a legitimate space. I suspect this was “their” plan..... Of course the chap in charge comes storming over to our Motorhome to show me his pitch plan, and then I showed him the plan I’d been given...both different! Ridiculous.......mine showed pitches with a clear view of the water, his showed Motorhome spaces so tightly packed in, including a pitch right in front of our awning.. The upshot was the van was moved away from our van. But not before it created a bad atmosphere between us and the offending camper van owners, who should have refused the park there in the first place as it was way to close to our Motorhome.. why are some people so inconsiderate? Anyway, met up with friends, ate some good food, drank some good wine.....but because of the dreadful unfriendly reception staff we won’t return. Not to mention the noise, the total lack of any modern facilities, the filthy dump area and the general state of the place with dogs running loose everywhere.......shame as It’s a great spot, but was just too overcrowded, vans rammed in to every inch. And no one policing it.....I suspect someone was making some extra money somewhere. Worst camp site out of the 11 we stayed on during our four week trip.... The manager, who was a big bloke, should be more careful getting in the face of a 60 year old women. Dreadful behaviour......totally unacceptable and unwarranted...

We are a family friendly holiday park with camp sites and cabins. Close to 90 Mile Beach, and Cape Reinga. WE have farmyard animals in the holiday park for the children to enjoy, restaurant and supermarket walking distance from holiday park. Houhora Wharf is famous for the excellent fishing it offers, you can walk there from the holiday park. We would love to see you!
Everything about this camping ground is terrible. The bathrooms are dirty, toilet bowls stained, showers inconsistent in temperature so you get cold & burnt in the same 5 minutes & the communal kitchens/dining areas are full of junk & desperately need to be repainted. Worst though, is this sign on the toilets. So they have beautiful Tongan guests who aren’t allowed to use the same facilities as everyone else. Apartheid in Pukenui lives on. Absolutely disgraceful.

28 Site Campervan and Caravan site, with tents also - sent amongst olive trees. A 15 minute walk from Paihia town
We stayed in the Campervan Park over a year ago and I've been meaning to write a review since then. We had a wonderful and surprising experience because of the weather. We were in our rooftent during the off season, so it was very quiet. We were very happy, enjoying the peace and quiet, the bbq / kitchen / communal shelter area, when the weather changed dramatically and the heavens opened. While we were happy to tough it out in our rooftent, Jan came to the rescue and insisted (in the nicest possible way) that we move into the apartments, as the weather forecast was the worst she had ever seen. Needless to say, we had a very luxurious night in a beautiful apartment. While we were pleased to see the next morning that our tent had withstood the torrential rain, we certainly enjoyed the upmarket accommodation. Thank you Jan for the memorable stay. We look forward to staying again, in better weather.

Bay of Islands Holiday Park boasts 4.2 hectares of space to spread out over. We provide accommodation close to Paihia and is well located for exploring the Bay of Islands and further north to Cape Reinga. We offer studio and 2-bedroom tourist flats, Yurts and basic cabin accommodation. Grass or hard sites for camping and or motor-homes/caravans. Large ablution block with non-metered showers. Large recreation room. BBQ and pizza oven facilities. Children's playground. Season swimming pool. Pet Friendly (sorry, no pets in tourist flats) Plenty of trees for shade and the Waitangi River running along one boundary for safe swimming and kayaking up to the Lilypond Falls. Listen to the peace and quite of nature as you gently paddle upstream passing by a tarzan swing and reaching Lilypond with a great swimming hole in about 25 minutes. Bay of Islands Holiday Park is well located for exploring the best that the Bay of Islands has on offer. Centrally located 10 minutes drive from Paihia and 15 minutes to Kerikeri, you can enjoy the best of both locations. There are winery's, native bush walks and local artisan products at the Farmers Markets all nearby. We offer a free tour booking service. Tours that pick-up from the park include: Cruise the Bay of Islands, Dolphin viewing, charter a yacht, day trips to Cape Reinga and 90 Mile Beach.
Situated on the outskirts of Paihia this place has a river running along side it that is fun for kids to swim in but safe. There is a pool onsite as well as playground and zip wire so plenty to occupy families. The facilities are very good with clean showers and toilets as well as communal kitchen and bbqs. Well run site and friendly staff.
