When we got there we took a camel ride to watch sunset which was sensational. The luxury camp had all the facilities which made our stay very comfortable. Thank heaps, we will definitely come back

Ait isfoul has been lovingly restored by owner Kamal Yassine, Mohamed’s grandson and partner, artist Michelle Fletcher. In restoring it’s original beauty and charm, this small Kasbah, nestled in a Date Palm Grove, shares it’s richly layered berber culture, traditions, its own unique flavours of Sahara and the simplicity of local desert life. Jointly and in collaboration with local artisans and craftsman, we have used traditional techniques and reclaimed materials whenever possible. Kasbah Ait isfoul has soul, and is in the heart of a local berber village and filled with history and berber character. We offer you a authentic and simple experience, with many details and comforts for you to enjoy the local desert way of life
We arrived on a windy day and after four windy days, the desert sand appeared to be taking over the property. The staff, who were very kind, seemed a little surprised to see us and we were the only guests. They were trying to clear off the pool and dining areas (all open to the elements) but the pool (one of the main reasons we booked here) was uninvitingly murky despite their efforts. The kasbah and surroundings were not as scenic as we thought they would be from the website. The room had some nice decorative touches but the flies and ants detracted from them. The food was good, well prepared and served. The price for the room was high by Morrocan standards, and we thought it was poor value for what we got.

Surprisingly well set, clean and confortable desert camp. The location is by the side of the main, bigger dunes, quite well located. Dinner was quite good (remember to take your wine, if you want to have it with your meal, as there is no alchool) and the tents (which are brick walled underneath) very cozy.

For travelers who seek exclusive luxury accommodation in the Sahara desert. Our camp in Erg Chigaga.” Morocco desert camp” is a private comfortable and authentic luxury camp, placed in the impressive desert of Erg Chigaga. the luxury camp offer a great variety of activities and our friendly staff will provide you with the best service.
We had a 4 day 3 night desert tour. Our driver picked us up from Marrakech and made the trip personal. He stopped for any request and was informative in local history. The desert camp was probably the highlight with Magnificat sun sets and sun rises. We arrived in 42 degree temp and the air conditioned tent was certainly a blessing. The camp staff were all very friendly and accommodating. If you want a glass if wine with dinner to to watch the sunset with make sure you get the driver to stop at a nearby town as they don’t have any in the camp. The trip back to Marrakesh was probably the most tiring with a 9 hour travel time to traverse the winding roads across the mountains. It would be good if there was a way some of the time travelling could be reduced with helicopters or light aircraft as it took us a day to get over the trip back.

We stayed for 3 nights at Umnya and we just had the most memorable experience ever! It was our first time in the Sahara desert and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Everything was absolutely perfect, the location of the camp is just unbeatable, the staff is always ready to help you with anything you need and always with a smile on their faces, seriously some of the best hospitality that we’ve experienced in Morocco. All the food was phenomenal and tastes like “homemade food” absolutely delicious, we will never forget those soups and the yummy aubergine salad ? We HIGHLY recommend you to stay at Umnya Dune Camp at least once in your life, you won’t regret it for sure! Thank you so much again to all the team for making our stay absolutely memorable ?? we will return one day ?

Absolutely incredible time in the desert. Moustafa and his crew are incredibly hospitable and prepare delicious food every meal. Our hosts were experts on the area and nomad life, and driving through the desert we got to see a first hand experience of the life of many of their friends living and working in the desert. The music was likewise very impressive and a lot of fun to jam and dance with the team. The dunes at Erg Chigaga were incredible and well worth the voyage to see them. You won't be disappointed. Bring plenty of water!

Family run B&B, Auberge la Palmeraie is at the heart of the palm grove of Mahmid, in the peace of farmlands. Auberge la palmeraie is a eco friendly place, built with natural material. Moreover the place is autonomous for energy and water: the solar panel for the electricity ,well water pumped with solar energy and the heating of the water is done with wood. Auberge la palmeraie also serves lunch and diner on demand. We offer excursion by camel (trekking) or 4x4 to Sahara desert, Chegaga Dunes, Douib dunes, Lihoudi Dunes, EzZahar Dunes (non-exhaustive list).
With Auberge de la Palmeraie as a base you can relax and enjoy all that the property has to offer - delicious fresh food, friendly people, comfortable lodgings and a peaceful environment. But also available when staying at Palmeraie is an amazing desert adventure! My seven day booking included a five day trekking desert excursion, following a part of the ancient camel caravan route. If you have thought about visiting the desert then I highly recommend booking with Stephanie and Brahim at Palmeraie. With two expert guides and a couple of pack camels we trekked to the giant dune Erg Chigaga. Three delicious meals a day plus water and tea were provided. A tent is also provided but I recommend camping out under the stars, it is an incredible feeling! Along the way, my guides taught me about the surprising variety of plants and animals that call the desert home, including the elusive Fennec (desert) fox. Save a little space in your pack as there are fossils, minerals, and pottery shards to be found. Each day offered something new to see, shifting sands, rocky plains and unbelievable skies. My trip to Palmeraie and the Moroccan Sahara was the highlight of my six weeks in Morocco. I will simply say, book it, you won't be disappointed. -Scott Cronin
