A refaire

We experienced excellent service throughout our stay and the facilities were of a high standard. The food at the restaurant was exceptional as was the wine which was produced from their own vineyard. We utilised the cycle paths which were easily accessible from the site.

We stayed here for 1 night as a stopover in our VW campervan. Staff were very helpful and electricity available. They readily helped us with an adaptor which we didn't have. Pitches were smaller than other sites we have been to in France. Lots of children around and very noisy as there was a fair opposite on the beach however we didn't mind this too much. Good bar and pool. Also regular evening activities and we participated in bingo whilst we were there which was a lot of fun. Well located next to the beach and good clean facilities.

We were staying in an EcoLodge. These were crammed in very closely together, with a car parked right up next to ours and nowhere to park our car. We arrived 5 min after reception closed. The key had been left for us with a map, but we were sent to the wrong plot. We couldn’t get the car on site so ended up having to drag our luggage around the site. We had booked linen, but none was provided. The lodge was poorly equipped - no kettle. The entertainment was very loud until midnight, and came from this site and the neighbouring one. It was loud even with ear plugs in! There were no seats on the loos and few of the showers worked. We went to speak to reception next morning. Linen was given to us, we were told that kettles are not provided. We had booked through Canvas and had expected better. We phoned Canvas who agreed to move us with additional cost. Canvas were helpful and I’m relieved we didn’t book directly with the site. The site was scruffy, overcrowded and the worst French site I have ever stayed on. The staff were nice enough, but I don’t think they could see what the problem was - so I can’t see anything changing.... Teenagers (aged16?) seemed to be left unaccompanied on the site overnight. We moved to a “quieter” site - it was a little quieter, and facilities were hugely better. This was massively disappointing as we so needed a relaxing break, but that isn’t what we got - I wept! Looking at the photo, from what we could understand we were expected to park our car in the space in front of the chair. We didn’t as we felt the risk in case of a fire was far too high

We had a lovely stay and highly recommend it to anyone. The camping is beatifully situated along the gorges. Tenants were adorable and although it was warm, the shade of the trees made it well bearable.

We had a very nice stay at camping La Sousta! The showers, toilets, sinks, etc. were very clean. The camping is very calm, but there is a good atmosphere at the bar in the evenings. The bar and bistro are not really expensive, but are of good quality. There is a nice beach at the river to relax and it is only a very short walk to the beach at the pont du gard. The places to put your tents or caravans are pretty big and there is a lot of shade. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay and recommend it to everyone looking for a camping in that area.

"Le Moulin du Luech" campsite, ideally implanted at the edge of a river, in a wonderful park, with huge trees and only 35 spacious and shaded pitches. Let's try an unusual experiment in "les Cévennes" and sleep in a luxurious tente, including all the confort necessary, a common kitchen and a relaxation area with hammock. This small campsite is the best for nature lovers, hiking and fishing.
I spent there 3 days (in a tent) early in the season in 2018 on a long bicyle trip, one of the most beautiful and peaceful campsites ever! Also a friendly and helpful manager and clean facilities. And super nice hiking possibilities in the surrounding area. I would come back there any time!

English beware! We think he has a problem with us We told the office we would be arriving after midnight and they said everything would be left in reception. We had car hire problems and arrived at 2 - nothing - rang emergency no several times manager arrived, ranted at us for expecting to be let in, and told us to sleep in the cars (including 2 children) and come to reception at 7.30 - he then kept us waiting til 8 and told us how lucky we were that he was getting us into our accommodation. Ours was a big booking for a family wedding: 1 mobile x 2 weeks/2 mobiles x 1 week/1 mobile x 3 days - four mobiles in total I spoke to the owners and said that a refund of the first night for two mobiles would settle matters 198 euros - they first offered me 4 vouchers for a steam engine ride - then said they would waive the tourist taxes we owed them 55,30 euros and 61 euros for an extra night we booked at the end. I itemised everything and waited for the normal response - they were always very elusive and one of the charming office staff said she wasn't authorised to pay the remaining 82 euros Our daughter's mobile had a faulty boiler and they had little or no hot water for the week with a baby- were understanding and adapted until the manager insisted that they had had water most of the time!!!!! Again offered free tickets to say they had!!! We made the most of our holiday because we were all happy together, the campsite was lovely, and all the staff and other campers were super friendly, but still cannot get over the lack of apology or refund. The final straw was the last day in our caravan - I left a message to say I was running late 11 - 11.30 and the manager came round and said aggressively it had to be 10.30 'he had work to do' - and even though accomm was set for 3 pm he liked to get people in as soon as possible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our family were leaving at different times and cleaned the mobiles which were grubby, so he knew he would have no work to do atall - it just felt spiteful and made us feel the same as when we arrived - so sad. Another retired English couple arrived for a few nights - they spend 6 weeks on French campsites every year and said that they had never had such an unpleasant reception as at La Buissiere. It needs to be made plain that the manager who does all the work and is in charge may not appreciate the English - it wouldn't be fair to subject anyone else to nights in the car with children after a long journey when told that the keys would be at reception as with other campsites.
