Hi, I just got back from 3 beautiful weeks in Honduras. This is my 4th trip in 4 years. I flew into San Pedro and used Kerims private transport service to the western highlands near the Salvadorian border in the department of Lempira. I did not encounter any roadblocks/riots/civil unrest. I stayed there for two weeks without incident. Then Kerim picked me up from Lempira and took a girlfriend and I to PANACAM for a night (highly recommended for bird lovers), a night by Lago de Yojoa after exploring Parque Los Naranjos and Biopark Paradise. We again had a wonderful time without any incidents. Lastly, I spent 2 days in San Pedro with Kerim, we went to Omoa (what a cultural delight) and had seafood soup on the coast. My last day he took me to a spa for an expertly given massage. I even walked to the mall by myself from my hotel. The Honduran people are warm, friendly and humble. In my personal opinion, you are more likely to be assaulted on vacation in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Chicago, etc than in Honduras. Kerim is attentive, on time, and patient Don't be afraid of Honduras,if you are a tourist, and not looking for any trouble, it most likely wont find you. The news we hear here in the US is very slanted. There are always 2 sides to every story.

To get out of the hustle and bustle of the capital city, on this one-day tour of the city of Comayagua and its surroundings, We will visit El Chircal village that houses the oldest archaeological area in Honduras located between Yarumela and Comayagua. We will make a small stop by the Central Plaza of the city of La Paz. We will continue our tour through the charming towns of Lejamaní and Ajuterique, before reaching the colonial city of Comayagua. This city is famous because, was the capital of the "province of Honduras" during colonial times. Its architecture, full of tile roofs and Spanish churches, is a reflection of ancestry and tradition. The most outstanding building is the Cathedral Church of the Immaculate Conception, that keeps one of the oldest clocks in America, dating from the year 1100.
