With its plentiful beaches, dramatic mountains, and backdrop of samba and bossa nova rhythms, it's easy to fall in love with Rio de Janeiro. Made famous in song, Ipanema Beach is still the place to stroll, sunbathe, and be seen. The largest Art Deco statue in the world, Christ the Redeemer, beckons visitors to Corcovado Mountain. Rio’s annual Carnaval celebrations are bacchanalian extravaganzas of feasting, music, dance, and costumed revelry.

I visited Brazil for 2 weeks and booked a bunch of stuff for my time there. This tour was incredible! We learned so much about the Christ Statue and the plants in the garden. I absolutely loved the stop at the market after the Christ Statue, the food tasted amazing. The waterfall shower was so refreshing and a great way to end such a great day. I highly recommend this tour

You'll be picked up from your hotel in Rio by car, and taken to the west of the city, a journey lasting 60 minutes. From here we'll hike up for 40 minutes among some of Rio's most stunning landscapes. The endpoint is worth the effort - as you arrive at the famous "Pedra do Telégrafo" where an incredible view awaits you! Then the tour continues, walking back to the car to head to Grumari Beach, one of the Rio's wild beaches that you'll explore in this tour. If all that walking has made you hungry, you're in luck! Here you'll have an hour of free time to have something delicious to eat. After that, you'll decide if you want to stay at Grumari beach or if you want to know the other wild beach, named Prainha. You will have approximately 60 minutes to relax in each beach, or 120 minutes in only one. Then, we'll make our way back to your hotel in Rio de Janeiro, after eight hours exploring the finest panoramas the city has to offer.
Inclusions: Air-conditioned vehicle, Personal health insurance, Bilingual guiding services
Exclusions: Food and drinks, extra costs, Tips for guides (10-20% of trip cost is typical)
Challenging hike but well worth it! You will feel accomplished and the views are amazing. We booked the tour for 2 of us and selected hotel pick-up and drop-off. There was one other person on the tour and he met us at the site. Make sure to bring a backpack and water. There was one area were there was mineral water and we were able to top off our bottles. We come across a guy who makes the hike 3x/week with a backpack full of refreshments and otter pop style popsicles! We had cash and purchased açaí popsicles. Our guide Rafael was very knowledgable and made us feel comfortable. He carried all the gear since there was a portion that we used harnesses and rock climbed/rappelled. We had only done indoor rock climbing before and he talked us through the process and steps. Throughout the tour he guided us and told us exactly where to step on rougher areas and helped stabilize our feet as well. He made sure you went at your own pace and took breaks as needed. You can tell he is passionate and environmentally conscious. He also had tips on photo sites and took photos for us at the top and along the way. He was so great that we ended up adding on a canoe excursion with him (through the tour company) for that night!

There were many issues with this tour, but, the main issues were, in tripadvisor, it says the tour is in "English" there was zero English spoken on that tour. Also, I was under the impression that I was going to have time to snorkel (since I paid an extra 25R for the mask (which I was also told would only be 20R via text) but you spend more time fighting for a life jacket, then fighting for a spot on the motor boat then fighting for a spot back then you do in the water. All 3 beaches combimed were a total of 30 maybe 45 minutes, if you take away the time it takes to get to the actual water. I also did not feel safe, as I was dropped off about 2 blocks away from my hotel (which had previously been passed) and I am a single woman in a foreign country and did not feel safe, why couldn't I be dropped off in front of my hotel at night?
