We did a shore excursion from Casablanca to Marrakech, professional driver, always following the speed limit, guide covered everything that we ask for. Good communication by email or whatsapp. The people from the ship who stayed in Casablanca complained a lot, not a good place to spend the day. So take the tour and enjoy Marrakech.

Idrissi and Mourad made for an incredible trip to Fez. Everyone at this company follows Covid safety guidelines, and we felt very safe. The drive to Fez was breathtaking, and totally different than the other parts of the country we had visited. Mourad took us to a nice rest stop for a break along the drive. The ride was comfortable, with reclining seats, A/C, sanitizer, water, etc... In Fez, we met up with our guide, Idrissi, who has been a tour guide in Fez for about 40 years! He has an extremely extensive knowledge of the city of Fez, and gave us the experience of having a friendly, scholarly historian as a guide. We could tell right away that Idrissi is very well respected in Fez, by how locals would greet him so happily through the city. He is very well dressed and polite. We felt lucky to have him as a guide. We started by driving through the new Medina, then got out by the Royal Palace and walked through the Mellah, the old Jewish quarter. He pointed out the various gates and walls of the Medinas, and even knew how old they were. He pointed out which areas of the walls were from different times. We walked to Fes El Bali, the oldest neighborhood in Fez, and thought to be the oldest in-tact Medina in the world. There we got to see both sides of the famous Bab Boujloud gate, which has a completely different view from either side, and an amazing story behind its design. We got to see the outside of the Medersa Bou Inania, the Mosquee Al Qaraouiyine (which was one of the oldest universities in the world), and Medersa Attarine, (due to Covid, we couldn’t go inside). We walked through the Souk District, home of the local craftwork, where Idrissi was an expert at navigating. He also is very knowledgeable about which shops have quality handmade goods, and which shops to avoid. We are vegan, so Idrissi customized the trip for us, and skipped past the meat market and camel leather areas for us, which was very nice of him. He only took us to things that we were interested in seeing, and things that he knew we would appreciate. We got to go into the Nejjarine Museum of cedar wood, which displays artifacts of all of the various ways Moroccans used cedar wood from the Atlas Mountains from the 14th century to now. Idrissi also took us to many amazing lookout points with breathtaking views and photo-ops. Something we really appreciated was how he made sure that we did not feel pressure to buy things, and made sure the shop owners were not pushy. He picked quality places to take us to, especially for lunch. We had a personalized traditional Moroccan meal in an immaculate restored traditional home, with detailed carvings, mosaics, and artwork from floor to ceiling. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was great. We finished our tour with a tour of a ceramic school and workshop, which is a craft especially important to Fez. On the way out, we stopped at the top of a hill with a panoramic view of the Medinas we walked through, and the Merenid Tombs. Then, we had a nice drive home. I highly recommend seeing Fez this way. Idrissi is the best guide you’ll find in Fez!

We were based in Casablanca and took day drips to Rabat and Marrakech. The tours were accommodating and helpful. Abdu and our drivers were consummate professionals. I can’t believe we got them for the price we paid. The car was a very nice new SUV. Trust me you don’t want to drive in Morocco. We found Rabat beautiful and less crowded, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V was the most spectacular part of the trip. Marrakech was hot and crowded. Shopping in the old market was a little overwhelming. No prices on anything so have to ask and haggle everything (not my jam), so Abdu took us to a giant 2 story store where we bought several rugs we found gorgeous. Wouldn’t have been able to do anything without Abdu to help. I think the nightlife may have been interesting in Casablanca but isn’t my thing. Made me say this was Aug 2020 was in Aug 2019, don’t know how it is during the pandemic. My wife and I were the only ones on the tour.

It turned out that we had the exclusive use of our driver, Hussain (or maybe Hassan? Sorry!) rather than being squeezed into the minibus - which was great! We could take as long as needed or just go when we wanted and he was, of course, very knowledgeable and keen to share his love of his country with us. Since it was early in the season the cascades were yet a little muted and so, rather than climb too high in some less than ideal footwear, we stopped at the second then returned for some lunch! We had visited a very good (and regulated) medicinal herb shop on our way and stopped at a typical Berber house on our return so, all in all, a very worthwhile trip!

What an unforgettable tour of Morocco with Hassan from Under Morocco Sun company in March, 2020. We began our 12 day trip from Marrakesh to Casablanca, flew to Errachidia and transferred to the desert. To save time, we flew again to Fez and continued our way to my favourite city, Chefchaouen which was best known for striking, blue-washed buildings of its old town. It was so beautiful and unique that it was worth the journey up into the mountains to see Morocco's magical blue city. Thank you Hassan for helping me plan our itinerary and gave us very good advice for the whole journey. He was a genuinely nice person, spoke excellent English, he made sure that we were comfortable at all times. We learned so much about its history, culture, nature, food and economy. We traveled by so many different means of transportation, had so many different experiences and stayed at wonderful accommodations. It was truly an unique way to see so much of Morocco. Well done, Hassan, under the Morocco Sun!

This tour could have been great. We had the misfortune of getting a guide who was more engaged in trying to sign the tour group members up in additional tours than anything else. The tour did not go by the Hasaan II mosque as outlined but rather dropped you of there at the end of the tour. Our guide was constantly checking his phone for Instagram updates and stopped to do his own personal shopping during the tour. He even took time to hold the tour so that he could get a coffee for himself! Save yourself the money and look up some of the local sites, history etc and walk the route yourself. In contrast, we had just arrived from Merekesh and had a great tour (with a different company) and a tour guide who was engaging and loved what he did. . These guys may have equally great guides ...but we got the spoiled apple.
