Near warangal in Telangana state. Built by the kaktiyas. The symettry and exquisite carvings leave you spellbound. A single stone column gives 7 different sounds. A huge nandi beckons the visitors. The carvings around the temple can best be explained by sekhar, the local guide. It's a must visit place

The temple is situated in the heart of warangal city. One shall feel proud of INDIAN heritage, construction techniques on entering the temple. From out side ,the temple resembles one single stone block like Ellora Kailash temple .But it is a temple made of several stone blocks ,all interlocked. The look of the temple and its architecture gives an impression that there are 1000 pillers but it is not true. Except the locking system between the stones ,no lime morter is used..There is inlay hairline gaps between the stones. IT speaks of very high technology which was in force in ancient India

The famous 4 Kakatiya thoranas are present here. The red stone structure, now in ruins, should have been majestic. Many pillars and other sculptures are fine carvings

Very beautiful lake and we went on a super boat ride. There are crocodiles in the lake and we saw some of them resting in the small areas sun bathing. Beautiful park on the other side next to the lake with swings. People interested in cycling can hire bikes. Lovely resort with good amenities. The food in the resorts I heard was not good. We stayed closer to the Rammappa temple but the place we stayed did not serve good food either. Only the morning breakfast was okay. Overall good place to visit.
