Mocha City
They have been doing a lot of work on the city to give a good impression of what the city used to be like. Add that to the spectacular views of Wadi Darbat and the ocean, and it makes this a must see in the Salalah area. There are also a couple of small museums. The amount of signage is lacking on the roads to the city and the second museum so that could be improved, but our GPS helped us make the right turns the first time.

The business is run by Jo-Anne, a woman really dedicated to her work and one of the very few people in Oman treating animals with a lot of respect, care and love. Jo-Anne sent us the exact location via WhatsApp before our trip - so it was no problem to find the location which is located within stonewalls. Don't be unsettled on the way to the meeting point - the last 500 meters are indeed a firm sand and gravel road. But it is no problem to get there with a normal 2WD sedan car (Nissan Sunny). You may be shaken a bit but there is no possibility to get stuck or damage the car. Google Maps navigation shows the correct way to the meeting point. When it says that you have reached the destination, you are standing exactly in front of the shelters. Jo-Anne was already there and after some interesting conversation my wife started her 3 hours horse ride together with Jo-Anne and loved it from the first moment. A nice partner, many kilometres of free riding - expecially on beautiful sand beaches - is something very special for people living in Western Austria. We did a camel ride on the next day from another location which was also very great although I prefer to use my own muscle power or a vehicle with motor ;) . To sum up: Jo-Anne is a pleasant and uncomplicated woman, working on the site and with her animals with passion. The animals are treated very well and according to my wife the horses love to gallop :D => everything is perfect and we will visit again at our next visit to Oman :)

One of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen. White sand, turquoise water, coconut trees and mountain view. I was very lucky to have this beach completely to my own for a few hours- no other tourists around.

Great place to visit when you want to get out of your hotel for a full day trip and watch camels along the boat ride. Must try boating in the wadi.

An ancient trade route with remains of the caravan oasis and trading ports.
The Dhofar region of Oman with it's grandeur is definitely recommended for a visit. Salalah is the center-point. We saw Dolphins in the sea and also huge herds of Camel. The drive all through is picturesque and the guides were really great drivers maintaining all safety measures. Enjoyed Thoroughly. Neeta and Bhaskar

I visited during the offseason. The best part is definitely the view of the coast and the beach. The place is well maintained with benches and a wooden railing along the edge. It's definitely worth a visit!
