We really enjoyed the Junkanoo Wolrd Museum. We loved hearing about the Junkanoo festival and heritage. Seeing all of the elaborate costumes they wear in the parades was amazing. Quintin and our tour guide gave us a look at how they are made, WHAT SKILL. The pride is apparent in this museum, it is not to be missed.

My husbad and I had the tour guide to ourselves about an hour before closing time. She was very thorough and informative. Definitely worth a visit as we love buildings that show how people lived decades ago, and we happily made a donation.

I walked with tour guide Vernita through the park, remains of slave quarters and family houses, and into a garden of local plants and medicinal herbs. She made these stories come alive and told them with compassion through all the contradictions of history. Wishing her well and looking forward to going back to visit this meaningful and visually stunning place. It was my favorite place in Nassau - great for contemplation, quiet, and watching a breathtaking sunset against the ocean cliffs.

Primeval Forest National Park

Remarkably undisturbed, this old-growth woodland is representative of the early evergreen tropical hardwood forests of the Bahamas. Located in southwestern New Providence, the area is easily accessible by car. It features dramatic sinkholes – unique limestone caverns up to 50 feet long, 30 feet wide, and in some cases 30 feet deep. The most notable features are accessed by boardwalks, steps and bridges.

Nice 1 hour walk through an old-stand forest. Lots of sinkholes to see. Great smells. Just don't touch anything!
