I never tire of looking around this shop which is chuck full of all manner of items from Wacky Women items (the creator lives close by Mt. Dora) to Key West Key Lime treats and there's also samples of the multiple sauces and crackers for sale in the shop....and if you're 21 (or a little older like me) you can try the tropical favors of their wine smoothies that are also for sale here. The shop is so full I recommend you take you time. The staff is laid back and friendly---check them out they're on face book.

It was our first time to visit Mt. Dora and we wondered why there were so many cars everywhere on this weekend. The next morning I was searching for things to do and saw this show-listing so we headed over there about 11:30. We couldn't believe all the cars parked at the market and how massive this was. We first walked a good portion of the flea market and the buildings on that side. We didn't see much we 'needed' and then headed over to the antique side about 2:30. We enjoyed this side much more as we looking at so many interesting items. They have these cute little buildings that are open every weekend but we didn't have enough time to go in many of them. That probably was a good thing as we kept finding things to buy in this area! It turns out that we were there during an Extravaganza Weekend that only takes place three times a year. During these shows, they have far more vendors than every weekend.

We had 22 of us for a fun night on the lake for a sunset cruise. Enjoyed ourselves immensely. We saw a gator and a bald eagle and got to see the Christmas lights at the marina from the water. Beautiful evening. I would do it again.

Mount Dora Historical Society Museum

Reviewed By davesQ624MZ - Wellingborough, United Kingdom

We were stopping in Florida and went for a day trip to Mount Dora. We found the little Historical Society Museum hidden up a side street. It cost just a couple of Dollars for the entrance fee and is quite small inside, but it is crammed full with interesting bits and pieces of history from the area. The building was originally the fire station back in the 1920's and then a jail, so some of the exhibits are connected to the building's origins. The three prison cells are still there to view (or lock someone up in if you wish). The lady that runs the museum is very helpful with answering questions. It took my wife and I around 45 minutes or so to get around and see the items and read their descriptions. Mount Dora was a really nice town to visit and finding the museum was a bit of a bonus for us.

We were walking around downtown Mount Dora and wondered in. We loved the vibe of the the owner and the bar. It was really relaxing. We looked at the wine list. A good variety and reasonably priced. You can choose by the glass or bottle. We opted for a bottle of Pinot Noir at under $20.00. It was terrific and at under $5.00 a glass by the bottle a bargain. There was music. A musician playing guitar and singing. Music from the 60's to present day. Stop in you won't be disappointed! Tell Cary Paul sent you.

Trimble Park

We camped here for one night. Our campsite, #7 was beautiful and private. It was right on the lake with a swing, in addition to the fire pit and grill. Restrooms were clean and there was a boardwalk, a fishing dock, trails and playground. Very nice park. (Only 15 campsites so make a reservation).
