Mombasa, with a population of 900,000, is no sleepy seaside village. Its beachfront hotels appeal to travelers in search of sun, sand and surf, while its Arab, Indian and colonial European heritage makes for a wide variety of sights to see. Can't find a taxi? We booked very spontaneously two days before our trip, but all communication worked very well. Our driver Juma picked us up at the hotel and we had a short drive to Tsavo East. We had a good and fun time, he is very polite and an even better driver! Very nice game drives in Tsavo (afternoon and morning) and a pleasant stay at the red elephant lodge. Very friendly staff and tasty food! After a morning game drive we headed to Amboseli to the AA Lodge. Another game drive in the afternoon, and a nice dinner. Very nice houses to stay with a beautiful view onto the Killimanjaro, can only recommend. Unfortunately on our third day we had a lot of rain during the night, so the drive was a bit delayed. Nevertheless, it turned out to be a beautiful day and with Juma's driving skills & park knowledge, we managed to reach all the fancy spots and watch the wild animals. On the last day, he drove us savely to Nairobi (picked up in Mombasa, +50$ extra) to our hotel. Thank you Juma and Steve for the experience!
