Lovely place for a picnic and watching the cranes come in at sunset. Bring binoculars. Check the season as they are mainly there in the winter. End of February is end of Crane season. Also, listen to the sound they make before you go so you can hear them. Rolling r sound call.

Harney Lane Winery

At Harney Lane Winery, we believe great wine begins in the vineyard. After over 100 years of farming wine grapes, we ventured into winemaking in 2006. Using only the best quality fruit from our estate vineyards, we continue to vigilantly farm our land to create award-winning Lodi wines. From planting and tending the grapes every season, to harvest and crush, to bottling, our family handles winemaking with the same diligence we use in our vineyards. Fruit is handpicked, hand sorted, fermented in small lots and barrel aged in programs unique to each of our wines. Harney Lane’s portfolio features a diverse array of estate wines, and we are pleased to bring you a taste of what we’ve spent generations working toward. We invite you to raise your glass to our new tradition!

Micke Grove Zoo

Reviewed By teensyl - Citrus Heights, United States

Great small zoo, intimate and affordable ($5 & $3)--visited with 2 wheelchair travelers, helpful and friendly staff, lots of safe room to run for those who can in the surrounding area, check the website for events such as special animals or feeding times. Animals easy to see up close, snow leopard, lemurs, tamaran, turtles and birds, shade available .Small gift shop where you won't be gouged for souvenirs. Easy access, smooth walkways, clean bathrooms, nice grounds surround it, including Japanese tea garden and a Rose Garden. Take a hamper and blanket or ice chest and chairs ( the food stand is closed) and then picnic like it's mid century. Lots of room for the kids to run and easy to keep them in view in the surrounding park. Support this small zoo's residents, and give a nod of thanks to Mr. Micke, an old time philanthropist, who donated the land and funds to create this zoo and park as a memorial to his wife, the love of his life, their story at the memorial statue.

d"Art Hand Crafted Wines

Reviewed By Duke1140 - Penn Valley, United States

Located in one of California's prime wine making areas this winery makes hand crafted wines--not to be confused with craft beers where all kinds of flavors and names are created...these wines are made with caring hands..we even saw them hand labeling the bottles. The wines are excellent and very fairly priced. The Zinfandels and Port were our favorites. The venue is small and has a nice outside area for picnicing, visiting, or otherwise enjoying the wines. Wendy was our host and was friendly, knowledgeable and shared her personal input on each wine. She was great. We will definitely be back.
