The nun who took us on a tour was very gracious. Not only did I receive a tour of the church, but was also shown a video. Then she also took us to see the archives which was phenomenal, and displayed the history of the church dating back many years. She talked about how there have been 2 people praying around the clock since the church opened, and how prayer requests can be submitted. Although this is not my denomination, I was impressed with the humility displayed and how much care the sisters here take to fulfill their mission. The stained glass is exceptional. This tour is best with no more than a small group.

At 590 feet, this area offers scenic views.
We had a group of 30 motorcyclists venture up the winding road to the top of the bluff on a perfect weather day to view the expanse of LaCrosse and the Mississippi River. It was well worth the ride.

The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe will forever be a spiritual destination for visitors from all over the world. The Shrine is nestled on over 100 acres of God’s Country in the Mississippi River Valley. In addition to the many beautiful chapels, statues, gardens, and devotional areas, the Shrine has a full service cafe and gift shop. The Shrine is open daily, there is never a charge for visiting, and the public is welcome. In it's Mission the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse, Wisconsin, faithful to the message of the Blessed Virgin Mary through her appearances on the American continent in 1531, serves the spiritual needs of those who suffer poverty in body and soul. It is a place of ceaseless prayer for the corporal and spiritual welfare of God’s children, especially those in most need.
From the beauty of the welcome center to the scenic walk up to the Chapel, the site was amazing. It was beautiful, scenic, refreshing, contemplative and so much more. What an inspiring visit.

A Downtown park where three rivers meet.
Rotary Lights at Riverside Park for Christmas is the most beautiful thing you could ever see! You can walk through , drive through or some evenings you can take a carriage ride. The skating rink is now open and there is a warming house and hot chocolate is available.

Learning and fun...Rolled into one! Three floors of hands-on exhibits, climbing wall (wall hours vary--call ahead), gift shop PLUS birthday parties, summer day camps, preschool programs and more. For ages 1-10 with adult.
So much to do and see great for kids under 7 years of age, after that age it is a little boring. Love the Kwik trip upstairs.

Historic Hixon House is a gem in downtown La Crosse. The original home began construction in 1858. Tour the home and hear of the Hixon family, their contributions to La Crosse, and their efforts to build this beautiful home. Hixon House is open seasonally- Memorial Day through Labor Day.
We enjoyed all the information told to us about the family and the house! We wanted more...like a book about the family, etc but there hasn't been one written, I guess?

I thought this museum was one of the best auto museums I've ever seen, if not the best. It is very professionally done and well-thought out. The displays were clean and meticulously done. The cars included memorialbia from the era. They had hood ornaments/radiator caps, globes from gas pumps, 4 gas pumps, a drive-in theatre set, a WWII Willy's jeep, an old era Indian motorcycle, a phonograph and jukebox. Frank and Mike, the American Pickers would love this place!!!!
