The medieval orthodox monastery complex situated next to the city, on a hill in the lush Mediterranean vegetation. It is composed of the Great Church, the Small Church and the Temple of Saint Sava, which was built, according to belief, by Saint Sava in the 13th century.
We walked to this Monastery and really enjoyed the history it represented and the care that has been given to it to keep it looking pristine. The entire region of Boka Bay is full of Monasteries high up in their hills and not easy to get to but Savina Monastery is easily accessible on foot. We recommend that you walk up the staircase on the right of the Monastery because about half way up you will find a clearing which gives you a fantastic aerial view of the Monastery and the western part of Boka Bay

Known also as the City Tower, it is one of the symbols of Herceg Novi. It is situated in the western part of the Old Town, and its main feature is the clock, which was replaced with an electric one in the mid-nineties of the last century.

Nice old town with 3 fortresses inside in Boka Kotorska Bay. City is famous for its staircases connecting sea promenade with upper town. Nice old houses and atmosphere. Only thing missing are beaches, they are small and concrete.

Lots of restaurants, bars, cafes of all grades. Even the most expensive is very reasonable, by comparison with nearby Croatia, especially the Dubrovnik/Cavtat riviera. Great panoramic views of the Bay of Kotor you walk along. Boat trips available to various attractions. Trip up the bay to Kotor on a Pajo boat (owned by the family) really worthwhile, friendly with good commentary in various languages. In general, a laid back resort. If flying into Dubrovnik, ask your apartment owner about a transfer, to avoid delays at the border for buses/coaches (external EU frontier).

Ancient fortress and prison. You can see sea gauls, it's for sure, and dolphins if you get lucky. I was passing by boat.
