Come on an hour-long and family-friendly Alpaca Safari and get up close to the alpacas in their fields. Or, for adult visitors only, what about an Alpaca Trek where you'll learn about alpacas and their fleeces, and then go on a Trek round the farm, through woods, past a lochan and then finish with coffee and cakes in the farmhouse ? We have an Alpaca Farm Shop too. Pre-booking is ESSENTIAL for Alpaca Days Out.
We made a flying visit to Alpaca Days Out and loved it. It was a warm welcome from Carole and we had a leisurely stroll around the field surrounded by the Alpacas. We learnt so much in a very short time and we were amazed that Carole had names for all the Alpacas. It really is worth a visit to see and learn about these lovely animals

This castle was built in 1140 AD and is the best-preserved example of a 12th-century moat-and-bailey style structure.
Duffus castle is loved by kids, a castle ruin that they can climb over and big hills to roll down along with the moat that surrounds it, a great place to visit and take a picnic and kite to on a nice day, parking is ok, although can be busy in the summer months and only a single track road in and out !!

Elgin Cathedral is now open and we are delighted to welcome you back. Booking in advance is essential. Find out more and book at restarthistory.scot. Elgin Cathedral, also known as the ‘Lantern of the North’ is a majestic, historic ruin situated in Elgin. Elgin Cathedral is one of Scotland’s most beautiful medieval buildings, dating back to the 13th century. Elgin Cathedral has a rich history - it was badly fire damaged in 1390 following an attack by Robert III's brother Alexander Stewart, Earl of Buchan, who was also known as the ‘Wolf of Badenoch’. The two towers of the West Front and the Chapter House are intact and open to the public and the climb is rewarded with magnificent views of the town of Elgin. The top of the tower has an open viewing platform with information boards highlighting the visible landmarks.
A very interesting place lots of history and lots of information about the place there are lots of artefacts of the cathedral around there are approx 3 flights of challenging steps going up into the towers well worth it for the views but not suitable for people with mobility issues instead there is a room at the bottom that has a computer with all the information as is in the towers this is brilliant I want able to do the stairs so used that it was brill. The grounds are well kept and lots of information boards around. The shop is well stocked and the gentleman in was so friendly and helpful. Toilets very clean This is definitely a place to visit

***Please note: The Motor Museum is only open from Easter Weekend until the end of October and is CLOSED for winter.*** Based in the centre of Elgin (the capital of Morayshire, close to the Cooper Park), Moray Motor Museum is housed in a light and airy old mill building, part of which dates back to the era of the Cathedral when the Bishops of Moray ruled Moravia, and was used by them as a grain mill. The Moray Motor Museum houses a superb collection of veteran, vintage, classic cars and motorbikes. Most of which are on the button ready to go, added to this are the model cars and automobilia which make this a visit not be missed.
This was a great little place to visit and Brian was really informative and advised us on the policies in place to safeguard against Covid and face is information about the cars. There’re are some amazing cars which have achieved highly in events around the world. Our favourite car was the bubble car and my teenage son loved the F4 car. Brian spent time chatting to my teenage son, who we left there to enjoy a longer visit, he’s still talking about the cars and said it was his idea of the best day ever!

A warm welcome awaits you at Glen Moray Distillery in Elgin. Glen Moray has been distilled on the banks of the River Lossie since 1897 by a small dedicated team of craftsmen. In over a century of distilling at Glen Moray, much has changed. However, the ingredients, processes and the skills of those responsible for producing this finest quality single malt whisky remain constant. A small, friendly and informal distillery, Glen Moray is situated in the city of Elgin, the historic capital of Speyside. The area around Elgin is known as the Laich of Moray and has a mild climate. Indeed, an old Moray saying proclaims that the Laich of Moray has forty days more summer than any other part of Scotland – making Glen Moray one of the sunniest distilleries in Speyside. The Visitor Centre runs tours of the distillery, tastings of the whiskies available and has a small coffee shop and gift shop.
We've visited Glen Moray several times before, it's one of the best in terms of value for money. This visit was for a lunch and tastings only - due to Covid restrictions, pre-booking is highly recommended. The food and the whisky is of good quality and very well priced. Our party enjoyed a light lunch followed by three different 'flights' of whisky at prices to suit all. Always enjoy a trip to Glen Moray! Good selection of gifts in the shop too.. (Sensible and secure Covid precautions in place, by the way.)

Please note that the standard opening hours listed apply only for the open season ie from Saturday 30th March 2019 to the end of October. However we are open throughout the year by appointment. Work behind the scenes by our volunteers and staff carries on year round. Elgin Museum is owned and managed by The Moray Society, a membership organisation open to all who share its aims. The Museum’s collections are housed in a Category A listed building at the east end of Elgin High Street, Moray, in the North East of Scotland. Here you can see objects from all over the world, with a special focus on Moray, and from all periods of history and prehistory from before the dinosaurs to the present day. Please explore our website to find out more about the Museum: changing exhibitions, school visits, family events, lectures, resources for heritage and collections research, as well as how to hire our beautiful building as a venue for weddings and other special events.
Fabulous little museum right in the centre of Elgin, free to enter and lots of really interesting exhibits. How they fit so much into such a small space, I do not know! Lots of events held throughout the season, museum closes for the winter.

Ideal location for a health walk being only 4 from Elgin, with a fairly large car park and picnic area . The path which is centred around two interconnected lochs is sheltered, fairly dry but uneven in places, with some exposed tree roots, muddy sections and slight inclines, but nothing too difficult. No special footwear is required. However there are no toilets at or close to the location other than what nature provides. The distance from the carpark around both lochs and back is about 4500 steps and benches , to rest or contemplate the lochs, are situated at intervals along the path. On the whole it is more beneficial than a stroll round the park.
