If you're in Courmayeur, HIKE. Then the next day, HIKE some more. It's gorgeous. The trails are well groomed. Yes, some are steep but not undoable. And we didn't use poles. We did have good hiking boots which I recommend. We hiked to Rifugio Elisabetta with a detour to Lago Combal. I will never forget it as long as I live. Beautiful.
