Waverley Estate is the only Aged Wine Specialist in the Hunter Valley. The philosophy of the estate is to achieve low yields of fruit which create intensely flavored grapes attaining high quality but small quantity. Waverley offers award winning Semillon, Chardonnay, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sparkling and an amazing Vintage Port. No day in the Hunter is complete without stopping by Waverley where you will witness first hand aged Hunter wines and history blended together.
Wonderful knowledge and service by the staff. Happy to accommodate and explain the process and history of each wine. Cheese platter to enjoy and the scenery and setting is just beautiful. The wines are just superb, even if you aren’t the biggest wine person. The explanations to accompany the tastings is fantastic. Definitely a must visit when in the area.

A beautiful property and some great wines including a very nice sparkling shiraz and an amazing "Blacksmith's Shiraz Cabernet". The staff are very friendly and helpful but beware they are very persuasive (or maybe we are) since we left with a lot more wine than planned! Fun visit and recommended

James Estate Wines are built on a foundation of quality, experience, and a sense of “place” that encapsulates the lifestyle and creative spirit of the Hunter Valley. Our grapes are 100% estate grown. This means every part of the process is in the hands of our highly experienced and innovative winemakers, Head Winemaker, Giacomo Soldani and Vineyard Manager, Jarron Healey.
Amazing experience, lovely staff and fantastic wines! Melissa and Pete were so generous and welcoming, definitely a different experience to other wineries visited. Even offered us a cheese plate, hot cross buns and Easter eggs for Easter!

Brad and Heather are passionate about their wine, food and animals and it shows. We spent a very pleasant time in this small winery and enjoyed our visit tremendously. We ended up leaving with several wines, some balsamic and spices only the balsamic and spices made it back to Ireland. The wine was too nice and begged to be drunk.

Over 30 years in the making, Domaine de Binet is the realization of a young boy’s dream and is the family label of winemaker Daniel Binet. Domaine de Binet Wine Company focuses on interesting wine regions and alternate varietals. Visit the working winery enjoy a picnic on the lawn relax and enjoy wine country with hand crafted wines by Domaine de Binet.
We have visited Hunter Valley twice now and seen probably close to twenty vineyards here. This place has been rated highly by James Halliday and for good reason, or should we say good taste. We tasted the Domaine de Binet wines and were immediately blown away by the unique tastes. Our iHop vineyard tour operator warned us this is the place where people make their most purchases. More of an prediction than warning. Left with a box of great wines: Reds Accidental Tourist, Shiraz Dolcetto, Chambourcin; Whites Le Crazy Coq; Rose Moscato. Do yourself a favor and check in. You will enjoy the wines and friendly staff who know their products.

My wife and I always stop in to this cellar door when in the Hunter, the experience is always friendly with good humour usually provided by Maureen and Cathy. The staff here really know their wines and can also help you with finding good places to eat in the area. This time we booked a tasting for 3 couples, following COVID registration we were seated outside. We tasted a range of wines The range of wines included bubbles, whites and some very satisfying reds. The tasting was quite relaxed and we weren’t being rushed in any way.

My favourite place to vist in the Hunter Valley. The wine is delicious and from now on I will need a constant supply of that amazing chocolate liqueur in my fridge. The staff are so friendly and down to earth - the recommendations they sent through after I made a cellar door booking was a really nice touch as well. Every other cellar door visit in the Hunter Valley was disappointing compared to this one.
