We visited Nurellari for one day where we both had the wine tasting, the dinner and stayed for one night. The house itself is amazing and one of the most beautiful houses we’ve seen on our trip around Albania. The room was great and again one of the best rooms we stayed in during our trip Fatos was really friendly and had a lot to tell about their history. The wines we tasted were really good, especially one of their white wines and their red wine montemeca, but it was a shame most of the red wines were sold out, even though that must have been a good sign ;). All in all it was a very good experience and we can only recommend others to stop by and see their place and taste the wine

This 13th-century fort includes a number of preserved Byzantine churches, including the 13th-century Church of St. Mary of Vllaherna and the 14th-century Church of the Holy Trinity.
Take a guide, worth it! An amazing living castle. People still live here, beautiful houses, businesses, souvenir shops, ruins, mosques etc. Beautiful view of the city. highly recommend!

It was a very interesting experience. Very warm welcome from the whole family there. Would say almost a must if you visit albania. You could see in their eyes how much they love their “babies”

Lovely old converted church housing a fine collection of ikons - some of them from the 15th century. Good English signage, well laid out and beautifully presented.

Berat is a fascinating medieval town in central Albania. Beneath the commanding hilltop fortress lies the old town divided by the Osumi river into two neighborhoods - Gorica and Mangalem. Mangalem is the part right beneath the fortress and is predominantly Muslim, while across the river is predominantly an Orthodox quarter of Gorica. Both communities live in harmony and peace. During the Ottoman era, those not willing to embrace Islam, had to pay higher taxes to retain their religion. Both neighborhoods are fantastic to explore with unique architecture - houses so close one to another, set on an elevated terrain one window above the another, hence the city's nickname "town of 1000 windows".
