We spent two days hiking in this park. Sendero Sierra Nevada rates up there with one of the best hikes I’ve ever done. It provides astounding views of Volcan Llaima and Laguna Conguillío plus old growth Coigue and Auracaria forests and meadows of alstomeria and aster. The road from Malipeuco is paved up to the entrance to the national park. From there on the road is unpaved, rough, and narrow but still perfectly doable in our rented Peugeot 2008 crossover.

It is so breathtaking and wonderful to be able to see so much beauty in nature here in Chile. This park again is a gem.

You can see the red magma (molten rock) at the top of this still active volcano.
An intriguing active volcano begging adventurers to climb it, ski all around it and toboggan your way back to the bottom. A fun day out for sure – just make sure you have quality gear to protect from the elements!

2 nights in this place was one of the top highlights of our 3 week travels thro Patagonia Chile and Argentina. It's up there amongst the big boys for its beauty, tranquility and amazing scenery and treks.

Si Es Posible, Incluyan Este Santuario De La Naturaleza, Es Un Lugar Soñado, Ideal Para La Gente Que Gusta Del Montañismo
One of my favourite hikes I’ve done in South America. Very tough beginning, and you need to find an extra burst of energy to make it up to the mirador at the end, but it is a really beautiful trek. Bring insect repellent for the horse flies! The info booklet you get when you enter is also amazing and I wish every park gave one of the same quality.

Brilliant exercise with well established trails (recommend good walking shoes though). Beautiful forest and also some playgrounds for children in various areas. Bird song and great views of the city. 3000 pesos per person (about 6 NZD). Also accesible by vehicle. We spent about 3 hours walking around and really enjoyed it

It's a really good place to visit, in summer you can swim in the lake , kayak , stand up paddle, jet ski, relaxing in the sand of the beach and drink beer in the restaurants in the shores of the lake. Also if you come to visit this place in winter you can relaxing in a canoe and enjoy the landscape. If you are on the lake you can see the and the mountains, the volcano behind you and the stores of the town.
